I'm not big on rap, but Coolio hooked me with this song. I almost passed over the cover, but being a retired musician I felt guilty to do so. I didn't feel much of her hook at first, but she seemed confidently deliberate & consistent with all her movements as the layers blended into familiarity. Then her voice kicked off owning Coolio's rap like it was her own. Love the layers, artistry, multi instrimemtal musicianship & unique expression vocally. Glad I gave it a chance. It was a great treat. Bravo !
I was fourteen when this came out in 1995, and up to then I hadn't listened to, or liked, rap. This one captivated me--the girl who grew up, quite literally, in the sticks. I wasn't clear on the words until I was much older. Her singing is captivating. It's beautiful and soulful. I love it. I'm glad you gave it a try and liked it!
It's amazing one part at a time , together truly outstanding. The arrangement of it all is mindblowing, the fact she built it right in front of my eyes, I'm utterly speechless. Talented doesn't begin to describe this amazing soul.
Well being seen by 2.5 million people is a good start, she's young, it'll get better. You have to remember she's doing covers and not originals, plus looping is hard, but MANY people can do it. I'm not taking away from her obvious talent however there's 1000 people on TH-cam who "deserve" more credit.. it's the top 5 that'll get it.

Fantastic. Technically - in terms of using the RC300 and the musicianship in general, and in terms of the emotion as well in the performance, over and above the looping technique and skill, which is top notch. No one cares about how fast pedals can be pressed if it doesn't make you feel anything. Fantastic. Very glad to have stumbled across this. After many years of working with loop pedals and being involved in that and other people who do the same, this is one of the best things I've ever seen anybody do, unknown and well known people both. It succeeds in being about the music over and above the technique, which doesn't get in the way of the music being front and center, it just makes it happen, which is the point, but not everyone can manage it, and few as good as that. Massively impressed, and a great example of what can be done with looping when there's skill, talent and emotion brought to it.
