Media should not be saying they want to keep them there. They need to remain non biased. Most people in the area there will not even miss the Rays. And of coarse no city, county or state should be footing the bill for a headquarters for a sports team.
@ Washington had 3 chances so Montreal getting a second chance isn’t unprecedented. Heck, many current MLB cities have had more than 1 chance at a MLB team. No one buys tickets to the Rays so moving them to Montreal is the best scenario. Then the Marlins can call themselves the Florida Marlins once again.
@@Drummer8282 MLB will never go back to montreal while we are alive. no one bought tickets to montreal games when they had a team! i have gone to 100's of games and location is the worse for any team to survive in that location. st pete officials FAFO because when the rays play in steinbrenner field it will be sold out most of the season and tampa will see successful product and you will see a stadium deal that will come through. if the rays move it will be to tampa and not st pete. im telling you that MLB will not expand out side of the US again!
@@alexlim1275 I think you’re ignoring the fact that the Rays’ owners wanted to play half their games in Montreal just a few years ago which means they have contacts and relationships with people in Montreal who were willing to build them a new ballpark there. Also, Bell Canada recently sold their stake in MLSE which gives them $4.7B cash. They must have something in mind that required them to raise money or they’d have just kept their stake in MLSE. Bell Canada owns a sports network in Canada - TSN - which doesn’t have the rights to Blue Jays baseball so the next best thing for them would be to buy an MLB team of their own so they’d have broadcast rights and content for their network.
@@Drummer8282 talking and doing is two different things. them talking to montreal about renting there stadium to make sure tampa rays have a product on the field tells me more that they care about the rays as a whole, again baseball in montreal was a mistake and the city drop the ball in trying to keep them! bell having $5 billion doesnt mean a hill of beans at the end of the day when MLB is not coming, that like me saying michael jordan sold charlotte hornets for $3 billion is he trying to buy the rays and move them to charlotte! come on your grasping for straws here! the only chance montreal for MLB team was the one that left. use some common sense here what is the up side of canada getting another MLB team? none!
Beaches before Baseball! No tax dollars for baseball! our beaches need repairs! NO to repairs No to development, NO to baseball! Noone here actually cares about the rays anyways, and almost noone visits them. St Pete is a BAD location for sports
Rays should stay in Hillsborough County for a Multipurpose Stadium 90,000 capacity with retractable roof to play cricket, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, rugby, monster trucks, track and field. 1 Tampa Bay Downs, 2 Al Lopez Park, 3 New Tampa.

Nashville will finally get its chance. Let's goooo!
I thought Michael Jordan was trying to buy the Rays and the Rays move to Charlotte & renamed as the Knights or is that a temporary thing?
Tampa should step up and bring the team to Ybor City
Just wondering whose idea it was to put a cloth roof on a large building in a hurricane-prone area. Now it's just a disposal problem.
Well it almost made it 34 years without problem. Hurricanes weren't as common or powerful back then either.
It was just had 5 more years or so to go.
@@sarahlachman1349 34 year old roof mine lasted 14 years and milton wanted a little more than me!
its the tampa rays not st pete rays so bring them to tampa! move them to tampa fair gounds! SMH
The citizens of Saint Petersburg should absolutely hope that the deal is done and over. It’s a horrendous deal for taxpayers.
Either Hillsboro county and Tampa build a stadium or the rays will move
They have no future in the Bay Area.
Please leave. We are tired of hearing billionaires cry.
Move them to Montreal.
