They are blaming the counties citizens for voting down the bond. Let them play in Tampa, Good Riddance. Let the owners/players millionaires pay for it. They use it and hate the citizens that live there so bye bye.

@ thank you for your comments. It is interesting as a capitalistic country we say let a company go under if sales fall for their product, but for sports we have a socialist approach, as the government will support the product ( using people’s taxes) despite low sales.

I feel sad for the common folks who will be impacted negatively...., but I do not understand why billionaires can't build (or repair) a stadium where millionaires play a game. I will never understand why taxpayers have to foot the bill.
The owners have better lawyers and highly paid PR people. Not only do tax payers pay for the construction and fund the bonds, they also pay for repairs to a building that is fully owned by the billionaire. It’s a win win for the owner of the team. And tax payers also pay for road improvements( access) etc.
2023 - Rays finished with the best record in the AL. They host the Rangers in the playoffs. Attendance ? 17,000. This team has no fan base and is a drain on resources.
And, I'm sure you've seen concept renderings. I noticed the thing has NO PARKING area nearby. Or, maybe they are water-proofed underground area for maybe 10,000 cars😛😛 or, up on top of the dome---super, duper high-tech, I tell you!!😂😂 💪💪Great architects, I must say!
My thing is, the attendance always been an issue even before this happened. I’m an A’s fan and this is what happens now with the owners become heavily biased on them and their objective to not finance anything from their own pockets. This was probably their exit way out of any legal, financial promises with the city and the county. Remember they’ve been trying to get a new stadium for longer than a decade similar to the A’s situation but the employees are the ones that will see the true effects from this, it’s not just the ownership it’s also city council they’ve been delaying this whole process don’t just point the finger to the ownership.
If its about the low wage employees, it would be far cheaper and provide a better economic return for the taxpayers to just pay the stadium employees off to sit at home, even give them a raise, rather than a blank check for a stadium.
How about spending money on infrastructure, how many millions of gallons of raw sewage gets dumped into the bay with zero consequences. It doesn’t even rain and the streets get flooded sometimes. We still have miles of storm debris up and down the roads and not to mention they cant seem to pick up trash and recycle on a regular basis. This city and county is poorly managed in a way that affects the quality of life for the people who live here. Pinellas get your shit together!!!!
That downtown area does not need baseball. I haven't heard a more oblivious take in my life. It thrives in spite of a giant baseball stadium no one drives to taking up space.
I’m ready to move when I do I’m singing and saying good bye to this inflated, hurricane and overcrowded state, screw this city and the old ugly stadium ( now uglier )
Yeah I have gone to lots of games over the years . About 100 and I live in adjacent County . Milton was omen . Time to let it go . Rays ‘ Owners should be searching for new home
DTSP does just find on its own ... APRIL to SEPTEMBER might bring a few hundred more people to CENTRAL AV before or after games BUT THEY (RAYS) AIN'T THE LIFEBLOOD OF ST. PETE ...

Yo baseball team, build your stadium and pay for it yourself.
2nd lowest attendance in the league(2024)

It’s an awful spot in st Pete. We need a place with better parking

Better parking???? Do you need to park inside the Trop???
I've been saying it, get the Rays out of St. Pete

exactly. they're just pawns from the owners. and the media gives them a platform.

Should have fixed their drainage systems before they allowed 141 High rises built over the last several years

Just move the team to Nashville already.
They should do what Mark Cuban did in covid and pay the employees when the season starts for the days the usually work
Those workers at the Trop should not stay there for long. Those jobs are crap jobs. Is time to get better jobs.
Like what happened with the staff at the Oakland Coliseum.
That’s right. The impact always is to workers and concessionaires. Still, need to win games here, there, wherever
Why are we working on beach restorations? Didnt the state declare them privately owned?

Go sell donuts 🍩
Maybe orange trumpy can come throw paper towels at the unemployed workers.
Oh there’s a whiny liberal.
@@SKS8080Sometimes I am one but that is a lame ass joke !
Tampa is a democrat run city
So, the Rays' multimillionaire owners can get anything and everything paid for by taxpayers!
20% sales tax in the near future??
That's one good thing about it at least
Good thing Drumpfs gonna fix it for em 😂😂😂😂
Rays outta St Pete - could have-And should have- stayed … moral of story… Where is FEMA! 🏟️🏝️🏠
🏟️Bulldoze 👷it over for more condos🏝️
Yep but actually hospital wants property . Rays need to nomad it . Try Nevada or Tennessee. Maybe Mexico City .
