  • Rest Repose is out on the Distrokid presents The American Safari Tour 2018 and at the gig in Ft Worth Texas Ryan from RNA Music gets the rig overview from Ryan Fluff Bruce!
    Fluff takes us through his Rest Repose touring rig and guitar one piece at a time!
    On this tour he's using his custom Balaguer Hyperion Guitar with Fishman Modern Fluence pickups, into a Line 6 G90 wireless unit. From the Line 6 it goes to the Line 6 Helix, into the Orange Amps Rockerverb MKiii 50w. From the Rockerberb it goes to the Two Notes Audio Torpedo Live, that goes to front of house and into the Stock Orange Amps 2X12 with Celestion V30s.
    We hope you enjoy this rig review with Rest Repose, Fluff, and RNA Music. Stay tuned for our Saturday Vlog Video where we show more of our day and some of the Show from the Rail Club!
    Special thanks to our friend Adam Lamar of Werefoot for running the camera!

    You're Welcome, Bud! Anytime, my friend! Out of respect for you I kept myself from dropping the camera and fighting Fluff when he said Les Pauls should have pickgaurds. #teamnopickgaurd
    Fluff, if you're reading this, like Ryan said, Thanks for putting us on the list for the show and taking time to hang out and talk gear. You and the rest of the guys put on a killer show!

    Tell Fluff That the super glue could buff out using a big buffing wheel and rubbing compound. I had a similar incident with a customers guitar and the guy I use for refinishing happened to be in my workshop and he said I think I could get that out and he did get most of it. Looked much better than just leaving it alone, and he only charge 50 bucks.

    Fluff has a very distinct sound. When I hear a Rest Repose Song come on Spotify or wherever, I can hear his tone very clearly. And as a guitar player it’s one of the highest compliments you can get. Also his sound live is incredible for those who haven’t heard Rest Repose Live.

    I really like Fluff but I don't buy what he says about the Axe Fx. His problem with the ethernet cable would be gone because you use a standard XLR cable to the pedalboard with an Axe Fx. Why use the Torpedo Live when you have a Helix. Odd. It's just because of the money...

    Just for some clarification, the Fractal Audio Axe Fx has the same concept as Line 6’s screenshots. They are called scenes and have been implemented in the Axe Fx for many years. Seamless switching between scenes within a preset.

    2:54 That is interesting... I bought the Kemper over the helix just about a month ago for the reason, but I felt the opposite. I found the Helix to sound good but lack the same depth that the Kemper had. Different strokes I guess!

      Same dude. Helix feels dead in the hands. Owner of 2 years of Helix and I've only owned the Kemper for 2 months, Kemper sounds and feels SOOO much better.

    • @ariraphiel39
      @ariraphiel39 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also I think Helix sounds WAY better through power amp and cab, which is exactly what Ryan is doing. But Helix vs Kemper in FRFR, Helix does not sound nearly as good.

  • @mikehawkisb1g
    @mikehawkisb1g 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay, so if you're not running an FRFR cab from the helix how are you getting it into a standard cab without it sounding muddy? I've been looking at a helix but I really dont want to get rid of my full stack and I've been researching to no avail. Can anyone give me some pointers or help a fellow gearhead out?

    Have to agree with what hes saying here.. the helix is honestly great if you know how too use it.. i think it really blooms and reacts like a real amp.. i use mine with a power amp and a real cab with v30s. And its amazing.. the trick to helix is the eq settings 100%

    Strats & Tele"s = pickguard, It's a big nope on pretty much everything else. I do restoration on classic cars, mostly Pontiac GTO's and Trans Am's. Especially with the T/A's they came with dealer installed bumper guards on the doors and a piece of trim that runs along the edge of the glass on top of the door, if you take that off and clean it up, while not strictly correct it just makes the car so much sleeker. Sorry got into my shop talk for a second, great video! Love to see more like it!

    I've heard for years that Line 6 is nothing but trash. First person that really liked them.

      I think that's he consensus on the cheap spider amps. Some of their other products are great. I use one of their wireless systems myself and it's the best one I've ever had.

      RNA MUSIC that's awesome. I'm glad they are getting good reviews then. My singer had some Line 6 gear years ago and it lasted about 2 months and he got rid of them.

      IF it fits the "theme" of the guitar, like your diamond plate, then yup. On you Schecter though, none or clear is the way to go.
