I had the “Spanner” light come on in my 2.0 210PS Mondeo Vignale, usually after Full Throttle, high load, hard acceleration. It resulted in low torque mode being initiated, which would reset after Key Off, Key On. It annoyed me for ages. I got the same P06DD diagnostic code (not on the cheap testers off Amazon), but got nowhere in understanding the root cause. Someone suggested this oil pressure solenoid may be the cause. I got one for under £100 for Ford, and this video was spot on - resolved. Many thanks to people like you for sharing your knowledge.
Po6dd code ,goes into reduced power mode when accelating uphill ,replaced selunoid ,went ok for a month then came back on ,so put oil pressure sensor on ,thinking it could of picked a bit of muck up and need cleaning
Hi Jim! Thanks to your video I found actually whats wrong with my car now Smax 2017 2.0 diesel 210bhp automatic. Tonight diagnosted the fault code P06DD, how it will affect the timing, my cars engine is knocking uphill when gently moving in traffic, strange rought knocking sound, makes you to release the pedal or to shift it into lower gear. The Ford service mechanics twice failed to find this issue. :)))
Hi Jim hopefully your the man to help me 😂 would a faulty one of these cause high pressure in the fuel rail. I have a Ford Kuga throwing up high pressure in the fuel rail code p1169 only when flooring it, totally cuts out no limp mode, and I’ve changed loads of stuff. Fuel rail sensor, fuel filter, fuel regulator IN the high pressure fuel pump. The high pressure pump itself . Had a leak off test done and going to change the leak off pipes next. Encase of blockage in return lines. Car runs fine the rest of the time. Starts and drives great. Any help or directions would be greatly appreciated. I ended up at your video as someone had said oil pressure sensor. But could that really cause high pressure in the fuel system. Thanks in advance
That would be impossible to diagnose without actually working on the car and looking over it im afraid, but its more likley to be a fuel pressure problem than an oil pressure problem, id recommend taking it to a garage if you can to test it properly 👍
Hi, no it doesnt require draining the oil to change it, although if its been a while since your last service would be advantageous to do it incase theres bits in your oil so it doesnt clog up 👍
Hi Jim Just had this fault code come up on my 2016 AWD Ford Kuga. Check engine light came on, cleared code and all fine. Would this oil pressure sensor fit as will be changing it ASAP Thanks Paul
Hi jim I've got mk3 focus 1.6 tdci with a problem of juddering holding back feeling just after it gets warm changed maf sensor because it runs well when I diskect it any ideas please
Did you have an eml light on dash? Have you read the fault codes? Also did you reset them after you put the maf sensor on and reset its learned values?
The MAF sensor also affects the operation of the EGR valve. Very likely disconnecting the MAF sensor will disable EGR. Get a competent mechanic to check EGR operation.

ditto, same here
Changed them both on mine and still get the PO6DD code still coming on

Hey Jim, is this solenoid present on 2013 focus 2.0d? Do you know if it has the same issues?
Thanks for the videos!

Hello the engine code 06DD replacing this solenoid will fix the problem?
Thanks for the videos!
I don’t have any fault codes (I can get to) my engine cuts out/stalls under heavy load in high gears, could it be the oil pressure solenoid?
