I seared mine over charcoal for about 8 mins total then finished them in my instapot while bathing in Japanese bbq sauce which took a little over 45 min. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
Late to the party. That sounds amazing how you did yours. I love to cook. Always looking for new recipes to try out. Recently noticed that a new butcher shop opened up. He had beef ribs in the chiller counter.
I live in a tropical country and unlike everyone here, I'll be trying this recipe because it's way too hot to grill outside! I'll be baked together with the ribs. Thanks so much for this!
Thanks for the video, I got a tray of Fred Flintstone beef ribs, which I have never cooked before and was unsure what to do with them, as I have no BBQ. These were great.
I've made this recipe and OMG I got to say this is the BEST Beef Ribs recipe I've EVER tasted. They were super tender, falling off the bone bbq ribs. I got so hooked on them that I had to buy more ribs so I'm remaking them today for dinner. This recipe is such a big hit for my family. Not disappointing. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe with others. I'm never changing this recipe, NEVER!

You Sharing this so people can know it’s an all inclusive way to cook. Looking forward to many more of your episodes. Thank you very much.
I made your recipe today, just rubbed a drop each of mustard on each rib along with the your spice mix. Transferred the ribs in another foiled baking sheet, brushed on the sauce and broiled for 6 mins. Used a different Sauce to finish. Long story short, it was husband approved. He loves it so much. Thank you.
Subbing now! I love your calm voice. I like that you don't try to be funny. Just a matter of fact instructional video and I love it! Thank you! Can't wait to see your other videos!
been looking for oven baked recipes, and yours are great! just subscribed, already tried the pork oven bbq ribs and it was great! keep up the good work good sir!
Great video, I’ve followed your recipe for the forth time now and I find it just amazing! I use Weber Cowboy seasoning and rub and it adds a really good flavor.
I’m home working from home today so decided to make these. They’ve been in for about an hour already so thought I’d see some new pointers or tips. I didn’t use a binder for my homemade dry rub - so next time 😊 I also cook them ALOT slower for longer but yours look delicious, hope mine looks just as good 👍🏼
Warning! Don't make my mistake. I rarely leave negative comments but I'm frustrated. If you're going to try this recipe please please cover your ribs with foil until they are ready to be sauced and carmelized. I just tried making this and my ribs charred. I thought it was weird that he never covered the meat with foil when he put them in the oven, but I figured I just needed to trust the process. But 3 hours in the oven on 300F left me with tough, crispy, and charred ribs. I tried to salvage them at the 2 hour mark by covering them then but that didn't work. What a waste of food and money!
Good to note. Ovens vary. Mine started to blacken maybe an hour into the cook at the corners and I placed foil loosely on top. Fixed the issue. Thanks for noting this!
I watched your video and got a big package from Costco and cooked 4 Sunday dinner. I followed to the t even with the toothpick. Came out delicious. Make my own rub and homemade bar b que sauce. We had corn on the cob, potato salad and turnip greens
THANK YOU 😊🙏 I followed this recipe precisely and ended up with the best ribs that I've ever made!! I did the toothpick test but also measured the internal temperature at various intervals. I used thicker cut ribs so it took 5 hours to reach 203F and then I painted them in BBQ sauce and gave them another 7 minutes at 425F. They came out super tender and moist. Absolutely DELICIOUS!!
Thank you so much for this. Just curious, as I get my meat from Costco as well, they sometimes have the beef short plate (aka bigger Dino ribs). Roughly how long and at what temp do you think they’d take in the oven? Maybe I could try to wrap in foil to speed the process up. Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I baked these before and by the way my son was chewing excessively I knew that they weren’t cooked😂. Now I know to keep them in the oven longer and to use the toothpick method as well. Also you are absolutely right about the different temp ovens which I learned the hard way lol.
I use olive oil more often than mustard. The only thing that I even bother with mustard with is brisket and pork shoulders. I’ve used hot sauce before for things like wings or chicken.
Those look amazing! I live in Chicago and don't currently have outdoor space for a grill so these would be perfect for me. I will definitely be giving these a try.
Yes I agree I think it’s great that he shows an indoor option. Lots of people don’t have an outdoor space and this is perfect especially when it gets -50 in the wind. Thank you for your share. Happy cooking.
if i've got like a whole block of short ribs do i need to cut em into pieces like so first? or will the same thing work with a single chunk and i can cut em after?
1rst time I just bought half a cow... Got tons of ribs the only thing I didn't know how to cook... I don't have a smoker only a grill so can't slow cook on that... thanks this is what I needed... I make my own rub but the technique and learning was amazing.
Saturday, for the first time I made some baby back ribs in the oven instead of the smoker (due to heavy snow) Still around and below zero outside I don't want to fire up the pitboss. Ive done beef short ribs once on the smoker and they were amazing. Think I'll go for these beef ribs in the oven next. Until things warm up of course!
People say bbq can only come from a grill Or smoker… I beg to differ! Don’t get me wrong my smoker is always going to be my go to, but only when it makes logical sense lol
Great video. Loved your calm explanation of some of the details that normally get lost in other recipe/instructions. One question though, after resting for 25 minutes, there's no way that rib is still warm. Do you reheat somehow?
Dang, those look awesome! I used the Bearded Butchers Brock Lesnar blend on some T Bone steaks for the first time the other day and it was insane! I'll absolutely be using that rub again.

My father used to cook beef short ribs in the oven and placed barbecue sauce on them. Served with baked beans and cole slaw. What a joy to eat them.

The comment on knowing your oven absolutely perfect because it's absolutely true.
I have an oven baby back ribs video with over a million views and every now and then someone will blame me for their burnt ribs…

Finally a recipe I can do in the oven! All I kept finding was braised ribs. I wang just this!! Trying it out today!! 🎉🎉🎉
Your ability to clearly communicate the how/what/what/when/why is awesome. I just subbed and will try this with beef ribs real soon! Cheers!
Thanks for the sub!
Tried this twice and it came out perfect. Thank you.
Heck yeah!

These look great! I see many people wrapping the ribs in foil when cooking, do you recommend wrapping them?
For your oven, do you use the top or bottom heating source? Or both?
may i know if i should use the GRILL mode or the conventional top and bottom heat oven bake mode? thank you

Foil release chemicals and gives you cancer.
😂😂 he told you 2 hours and check it 💀💀
Yes he did😂 also time will vary with different ovens and thickness of the meat. You will steam them covered in tinfoil for the long cook time
Add parchment first then foil if using wet bbq or any acidic sauce. It will ear foil
Good to note. Ovens vary. Mine started to blacken maybe an hour into the cook at the corners and I placed foil loosely on top. Fixed the issue. Thanks for noting this!
Just made these and they turned out AMAZING! I used beef tallow instead of oil as a binder!

I like the simplicity of this. I'll make it tonight!
My son took one bite and exclaimed "Wow! This is delicious!" The bbq sauce makes a candied crust that transforms it into beef bacon.

They were delicious!!!! I don’t mind cooking outside this time of year, but filming out there sucks!
Short ribs are one of the BEST cuts. I cook those sous vide 150/24 then sear. Salt only. Will be ordering 2 rib plates from SRF soon....
Whats your take on olive oil vs mustard for binders and what other binders do you use?
I use olive oil more often than mustard. The only thing that I even bother with mustard with is brisket and pork shoulders. I’ve used hot sauce before for things like wings or chicken.
can I pre-cook the ribs the day before and finish them on the BBQ the day after?
Good question bc I wanna start my ribs but it's 4 pm and we JUST ate!

Would you suggest covering in foil to keep juices locked in and maybe speed up the process? I like to base mine in beer too.
You can do that if you want. My approach to this is to get them as close to grill or smoker results
Great instruction. Looking like a winner for me
