Thanks Chris, that was very useful. The top white cover has three clips holding it in place so a large flat bladed screwdriver does help to pop it open with a bit of force. The little electronic panel is just the blue LED lighting and control circuit. It’s very unlikely that the flashing error is due to this, but it’s always worth checking that all the connectors are properly seated by giving them a wiggle and pushing in.

Thanks for this. Always glad to find someone with a vid like this, since these companies are no help. Problem is, the one part that’s hard to do is pop the top off, and that’s the one part that was done off screen…. Nothing I’ve done has worked. What’s the mechanism? Push? Pull? Twist? I’m still under warranty and can’t risk tearing those little pieces apart, if it ends up with me having to get it replaced.

Hi. I need to take mine apart too. Can you show a clearer picture of what you click with that screw driver to get the grate off. It moves away as you open it.
    Mine won’t easily pop off.
Yours is the only video too:)
    Thanx!

Thank you so much Chris, mine is kind of yellow and I wanted to clean it but did not know how to take it apart.

Just tried this fix. When I disconnected the wire as shown and put it back together it didn't work at all. When I took it apart again I noticed that the spring around the main power button was just a little bit bent off center. While it was pulled in I pushed on the sensor in that spring and it did turn on. I was able to get it to at least function normally again by reconnecting the wire. I don't know how long it will work now that it's been put back, but it seems to be okay now. After all of this I think that there was something bent about the spring around the power button that has been the problem the whole time that it's been beeping on an off periodically.

I couldn't tell from the video but is the fan easy to get to?mine makes this irritating sqeaking noise im thinking if I can get to the axle and grease or oil it should fix the issue.

Once the cover is removed it is easy to access the motor and its bearings (disconnect mains power first). It's a classic induction motor so it's easy and safe (no exposed brushes/electrical connections) to add a little drop of very light oil to the spindle on both sides. the bearing on the side of the fan is a little awkward to access but you can perhaps put a drop of oil on the spindle and let it run back into the bearing by tipping the unit, or you could put some oil on a cotton bud and poke it through the holes in the fan unit. 3-in-1 oil or WD40 are fine, but just use a little otherwise your room will be delicately fragranced with your favorite oil. :)

SO what's the solution? Simply disconnecting the wire will do?
