I remember the first time I watched "Diggin in the carts" (end of 2014). After watching all the instalments I bought a flight ticket to Japan for February 2015. I wanted to visit "Yellow", the club where Yuzo Koshiro used to hang out when he composed the SOR soundtrack. So what I recall from this anecdote was that the original "Yellow" club closed some years ago, although it reopened under a different name. I headed to Roppongi hoping to get into the club somehow. I managed to find it but it was closed (I think it was temporary closed for reforms at that time). Anyway, funny story. A few years later, I think December 2017, I managed to see Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima at Fabric in London, so the circle was finally closed :)
One of the greatest Pioneers, trendsetters , visionaries of the 80's and 90's circa Japan, which amazingly enthusiastic passion for his career has elevated the music on the titles he helped developed to cult status gems, ... this is quite a fascinating interview to say the least 👍

Yuzo has influenced and change my life i love his music production and composition so much
He basically stole from black and latino hip hop hand house producers from the 90’s, to be honest. I like his work but I like the people he stole from music alot better.
@@GMAV3RICKbro, you got me laughing. The tr-808 and tr-909 were made by Japanese people even some of the synths electro funk and house wouldnt exist because at the end of the day without those drums that music wouldnt exist.
I just listened to the incredible OST to Streets of Rage III yesterday and I was wondering about how it was made, what an amzing coincidence that you guys uploaded this today!
its ok im here it was ahead of its time trying new things didn’t pay off for some people I liked most of the tracks some were too much but the 1st and second are definitely the best
Just realized this was updated on my birthday. How wonderful that this video by my top favorite video game composer would drop on this day! Thanks! 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Trust me, in situations like this, you got to have high confidence to do that. I remember living in japan having to do presentations to a plethora of people in Japanese, stuff is not easy at all. So I think it's abit of nervousness.
What on earth is going on in this interview? Guy speaks in English, Yuzo answers in Japanese despite being able to speak English, the interviewer hears the lady translating from Japanese to English but then the interviewer doesn't explain to the audience and us viewers what was said, and instead continues the conversation... Bizarre.
How unfathomably embarrassing for you to call this genius composer and programmer, a hack. You must have done absolutely nothing with your time on earth, and are insanely jealous.
Tr-808 and tr-909 are Japanese made machines. I'm Spanish American and know most of the 80s and 90s music gear history. The Japanese made the drum machines possible for house, hip hop, techno
Regardless , it's okay to acknowledge that he was influenced by BLACK house music. People forget that black people were the main ones doing house back in the day. He definitely is a elite talent but people need to also know how much black people influenced so many genres of music.

What a legend. This man is one of the main reasons I fell in love with electronic dance music ♥️

yes
Unpopular opinion incoming:
I don't like the SoR3 soundtrack. Prefer the first and second.
3 was definitely the best 🔥🔥❤️
Honestly no one likes SOR3 music. Its the worst ST of the series and is pretty bad overall outside of the series.

Yuzo Koshiro is a genius

Funny story of Actraiser, Nobuo Uematsu and his beard xD
Thanks for this! I would really have liked to be there.
Yuzo speaks English so perfectly, I don't understand why he's speaking Japanese in the interview

Three words: BRAVE NEW WORLD
all hail Yuzo!!!!

Legend
Omg 😦 the man himself 😮
The Don. Such a huge influence in me.
Thank god for the MD 1 headphone output socket! I used to rock out to all Yuzos soundtracks at school using my Walkman.

Bizarre.
He's a hack and blatantly ripped off many pop/dance music songs and tracks, almost note for note in Streets of Rage series.
Yep. Mainly he’s a rip off of Terry Lewis and Jimmy Jam.

Roland tr-808 and tr-909 are made by Japanese dudes im Spanish and know most of the music synthesizers and drum machines gears history of 80s and 90s.
