@@RcNe-bk3vb Chrono Cross lose a few notch on the main battle music, like a significant notch since that music is the one you literally hear the most in the game. It wasn't good at all. The rest of the soundtrack....phenomenal!! Almost a perfect soundtrack.
@BluKhaos I enjoy his work a bit more for that reason too...but I will have to say I enjoy Nobuo's work a lot too...It's just that Mitsuda's music has made a bit more an impact on me...it stays with you.
I really feel like Yasunori Mitsuda should be given the reigns for the mainline FF entry. His work on Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and Chrono Cross proves to be a masterpiece.
Its really hard to come up with something better than far away times of Chronno Trigger. It should prove to be the highest of challenges to any music composer.
Uematsu, the composer of DQ and Yoshida have different styles. I pick Yoshida because he wrote the songs that have sticked with me since the first time I listened these.
@Elezeid no he wasn't , he was working under Uematsu's orders when they where developing CT, Mitsuda wanted to take control of the whole thing and it was granted that honor, Square initialily wanted to have Uematsu composing the music, unfortunately Mitsuda worked so hard and for so long that he could not complete his track list , that's where Uematsu enter just to finish what mitsuda started AND with mitsuda's direction.
Agreed! No remake comes close to how much care they put into the 16 bit versions. What I don't like about orchestrations is sometimes it's too much reverb, and it takes you out of the immersion and can make the song seem less intimate
More versatility doesn't make Uematsu's music rubbish, rather it makes it acceptable by a greater range of gamers which is good. I still prefer Mitsuda's music in terms of "speaking to your soul" but Uematsu composed many more great pieces while Mitsuda's brilliance is found only in two games, Chrono Trigger and Cross. A third truly amazing Japanese composer would be Ko Otani of Shadow of The Colossus.
This man might be best known for Chrono Trigger, and rightfully so, but he was part of my childhood with another game: the original Mario Party. It feels great knowing I had one of the most legendary composers be a part of my days as a kid. I gotta give him credit for that.
I think Nobuo Uematsu is the better composer, but that's just an opinion. The fact is both are very talented to say the least. To think Uematsu has absolutely nothing on Mitsuda is just fanboyism/ignorance. If one is better than the other, than it's arguable. There is no clear better.
@BluKhaos I disagree at so many levels. There is no possible valid way to speak that way about uematsu. Uematsu made so many good soundtracks, worked on so many games and still to this day is capable of composing an original soundtrack. All his soundtracks are memorable, fitting and beautiful. Having said that, i respect Yasunori Mitsuda all the way and am a huge HUGE fan of his music. Just wanted to get the first part of the comment of my heart.
Orchestra version is so bad, it's killing my imagination, why do we need him to remake this music, they can just hire Owen Pallett, it's the same. I like the original so much.
IMO, Yasunori Mitsuda is the only who can surpass Uematsu. Both are supreme geniuses!
For me Mitsuda surpassed him with Chrono Cross music
He will never surpass uematsu. Sorry
@@jesusluvincognito3630 well because Chrono Cross quite underrated compared to Final Fantasy
For me, Chrono cross ost is better than FF6, FF7 ost.

This video: 13 years old. Man, time flies so fast.
This comment…3 years old 😂😢
Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Xenogears & Shadow Hearts. Nuff said.
+SinfulOcelot Remove Chrono Cross, and Shadow Hearts and add Suikoden III, Secret of Mana, and Final Fantasy VII.
+Xilo Channel Mitsuda didn't create the music for those games.
SinfulOcelot No shit sherlock, it sounded like you were just bringing your best rpg soundtracks.
+Xilo Channel Not very bright are you?
***** Takes one to know one. Thanks for commenting on something that was 4 months ago idiot.
He was really young when he composed those scores and that amazes me a lot.
I love how he has absolutely no clue that he composed the best soundtracks ever
Except he didn't haha. Try the soundtrack of FF9 or even FF 4 or 6
@@jesusluvincognito3630 they are joke in front of chrono trigger ost
Yes he did xenogears ost best ever

For real
The man's a legend. I like his personnality as well as his work.
The dude is a legend on his own way, even now his score in “another eden” still considered the best
Honestly i started playing another eden because it was the same musician and creator of chrono cross if i recall
Thank you Yasunori Mitsuda. A legend and absolute genius.
@BluKhaos I enjoy his work a bit more for that reason too...but I will have to say I enjoy Nobuo's work a lot too...It's just that Mitsuda's music has made a bit more an impact on me...it stays with you.
yeah, you're saying exactly what's on my mind.. for me, no composer have impacted me with his music as much as mitsuda.
Sem duvida é o melhore compositore que eu já vi!
Yasunori Mitsuda é o MELHOR!
i have so much respect for this guy.

When he said "13 years ago" and I saw the video is from 2008
It's just amazing how time flies
I agree. Yasunori Mitsuda is certainly THE BEST composer I have ever heard.... his music... is amazing.
Such a legend. One of my favorite composers and influences. You can tell he has such a passion for what he does.
Sir, you’re a legend.
Yasunori Mitsuda is one of my favortie composers. It would be amazing if he made a game with us one day.
Its really hard to come up with something better than far away times of Chronno Trigger. It should prove to be the highest of challenges to any music composer.
Best Japanese composer.
Mitsuda is the best; the CT OST stays on my ipod at all times.
one of the greatest composers of all time!
to think he was practically a kid when he worked on this, and that it reflects only about 20% of what goes on in his brain....wow
My budgie loves chrono trigger music. We love the epilogue and corridors of time
By the way, not all of Chrono Trigger's work is from Mitsuda. Silent Night most notably, and a few others are composed by Uematsu.
I LOVED the Xenogears soundtrack.
i'm suprised there isn't more love for the Cross OST!
While I don't think Cross is a better game than Trigger, the soundtrack is the best I've ever heard.
His compositions in Mario Party 64
are some of my favourites! ^^
Rejoice!

Mitsuda reminds me a bit of Steven Wilson - both songwriters can really speak to your soul
im 42 years...I all this time though it was NOBUOS WORK...omg..cant believe my blindness...this guy is a god.
Mitsuda-san you are a genious!
mitsuda rules. . . uematsu rules. . . i'd love to see them jam together! all hail mitsuda!
If not best composer.
Anyone else think the original 16 bit versions sounded better than orchestral?
Far Away times is far better in 16 bits.

Give it up! I know you are Zohar002
God.
You should all know that before he was a great composer, he was Uematsu's student. You might show a bit of respect.
yasunori mitsuda + nobuo uematsu > Beethoven + Bach.

Hey!! One Question! Is this Music also inside the Chrono Trigger DS?????? I just listen that they have the same 8-bit music for SNES and for DS.....
It's not 8-bit, it's just arranged with the Roland SC-88 synth instead of an orchestra to save memory.
not the best, but one of the best. japan has alot of incredible composers:D
joe hisaishi for example.
