- I show you how I achieved this super easy crochet braids style with soft dread hair.
$5.99/pack from local beauty supply store (used almost 5 packs to achieve this look)
This hair is amazing and lasts a really long time! I received compliments on this hair just about everyday I wore it and I took it out after two months. It still looked great at the 2-month mark.
**NOTE: Harlem125 Kima Braid
Soft Dreadlock hair is very similar to this hair. I have used both in the past and the textures are pretty much the same. Their prices are similar and can be purchased at your local beauty supply store.

I appreciate the advise of the amount of cornrows to use to decide whether I want my hair very full or moderate. I want my hair to definitely look full but certainly not like a mop.
Question: Let's say that I want to keep the hair in its natural style, which is the soft dreadlock to appear as if I have dreads, is the installation process still the same or different?

i had this hair before and i thinned it out with thinning shears for a more natural look. it took out a lot of the bulk. also, i did wash this hair and it was fine.

I love this hair on you. Beautiful. I was wondering is the hair soft to the touch and did it ever itch you? Also what kind of shampoo did u use on the hair because i had crochet braids before(it wasnt the soft dread kind and it was the rast a fri brand) and i shampooed and conditioned it but after that the hair was so dry n it felt ruff. It never came back soft to the touch again no matter how much i moisturized it. One more thing, did u mostly split the hair three or four times?
UniqueRose The hair has somewhat of a coarse synthetic texture. It's definitely soft to the touch and very light (not heavy at all). It never itched (trust me I've tried other hairs in the past that itched a lot and broke me out). I used regular shampoo (I've used the suave combo of shampoo and conditioner and the shea moisture moisture retention shampoo, both separate times, on this hair.) Washing actually helped this hair because it would clump together over time but the curls would be released/revived after washing. And the hair still felt great afterwards. I mostly split them into threes.
I may have missed it , but how is your freetress hair so long ? All the pictures show shoulder length hair .
Love the hair. I'm planning on wearing this style on a cruise, how do you maintain it. Like do you have a night routine?
Barcelona Blues At night I would just tie it up in a scarf and fluff it out the next morning and be good to go. I also washed it every two weeks which actually rejuvenated the curls whenever they would start to "clump".
_SheShines_ Thanks for the reply. How/what did you wash it with? at night did you lay on it or tie it up in a pony tail to avoid laying on the curls. Did you make sure it was completely covered with the scarf at night. Also did you ever wear it up? Sorry for all the questions but I really love this hair and you kept it looking good I just thought who better to ask.

Does it tangle badly?
kimberry2010 Definitely check it out! It doesn't tangle badly. Some of the ends looked a little rough after some time and I just snipped those ends off. If anything the hair starts to "clump" together after a while and I found that when I washed the hair, the curls loosened again, releasing the 'clumps' and the hair went back to its natural bounce.

I tie a scarf over it at night and then I just fluff the hair out with my fingers in the morning. It's very easy and never feels like it's in the way.

I've never done crochet braid & i wanna do sumthin different (especially 4 the summer) so I've been researching on which hair 2 use 4 the crochet hair style. U definelty catch my eye, it's different (cuz everyone is doin it show & a fater curls). Anyways, how 2 u maintain it 4 the 2-3months ( do u use any conditioners) & do u hve any hair left out?

I only saw colors 1 and 1B with this brand but the KIMA BRAID brand carries multiple colors.
How often did you wash? And could you pull this into a nice pony? Even if it was just half up half down? I work in a lab so I can't have it everywhere lol
TheWmango I washed it every two weeks so about 4 times. I could put it up in a half ponytail (half up and down). If I had crocheted the bottom of the braids, I could put it up in a full ponytail as well.

Jasmin Williams Thanks! And no I didn't. The strands separated easily for the most part. But if you want to be on the safe side, you can definitely add mousse before separating.

I love getting crochet braids, but they are always braided on and it hurts my edges/hairline. Will this not hurt it as well? Love the look too!
Thuli Nkosazana Msimanga This definitely didn't hurt at at all. It helped my hair grow as well. Maybe try not to braid so tightly around the perimeter of your head so you don't risk affecting your hairline.

Temitope Adewale You can definitely cut it in two for a shorter look. I've installed this hair on others n cut it shorter and I've had friends style this hair to the size of a small afro. Definitely don't be afraid to cut it. Be sure to cut it before installing so the lengths will be more even. :)

I've had this hair in for a while ( almost a month) and I was wondering if I could wash it. I did test it on four strands of hair that I took out using the Carol's Daughter black vanilla line and it came out fine but im still apprehensive. If you washed yours, did it come out nicely and also if possible, could you please do a tutorial on it? Thanks.
BlueNigerian Hi I was definitely able to wash this hair. I washed it about 4x before taking it out. Washing actually helps revive the curls and loosen the "clumping" that tends to occur. I gently wash my scalp and try not to be rough with the hair. For any tangles that may occur, I simply snipped them off.

Eu não tenho certeza se entendi sua pergunta, mas o cabelo que eu comprei é bastante mais barato , já que é cabelo sintético , por isso, se você tem duas opções , eu sugiro que você vá com a opção mais barata. Além disso, o líquido que eu usei é chamado Jamaican Preto Castor Oil ou JBCO .

Hi! I was wondering about how far apart did you install each piece of hair?
Gorgeous511 I installed them a few centimeters apart then when I had covered the bulk of my cornrows, I went in to add hair to spaces I felt were thin. Try to make sure you spread the hair out and cover the cornrows for the most part before filling in any empty spaces. This will help so you don't run out of hair and also prevents the style from being too bulky.

Levei-o para fora depois de dois meses ( ele definitivamente poderia ter durado mais tempo, mas eu cansei de o estilo. ) Eu esperei cerca de uma semana antes installin outro penteado. Gostaria de sugerir à espera , pelo menos, duas semanas em entre estilos de cabelo para deixar seu cabelo respirar. Espero que eu respondi suas perguntas.
