Being able to make origami or any other DIY stuff is really a gift! cos its really hard and requires a lot of patience!
I am using the pages from the last Christmas JCP catalog. Had to cut it a bit lengthwise, about an inch. It was almost perfect the first time :)
hey i just made that with smaller paper and i had the same problem that the last fold is a little harder.. however its not that hard once i figured out the right place for the fold :)
the downside is that the end result is not like the one in the video.

the regular printed paper is letter size, the A4 is a little bigger, what you have to do with the printer paper is: in the minute 5:03 don't fold the corner and at the end, this corner help you to close the letter
This is so pretty! It's the 3rd origami envelope I've made & I think it's the prettiest. :-) I'm wondering if the leaf can be in a different color then the rest of the envelope, like gold? I've done origami items in 2 different colors by just putting the 2 different color papers on top of each other, but I'm thinking that would be too bulky or it might not work. Can you please tell me what you think of this idea? Thanks much & thank you very much for making this video & posting it!

I think it's because the wrapping paper only has one colored side and if you fold it like this, the leaf corner happens to show the underside of the paper ^^

What are the dimensions to the paper? I used regular printer paper, but the card did not turn out right due to the size of the edges.

lol, actually if you dont fold the paper at 5:03 or if you fold it it really doesn't matter

It's difficult to see what you're doing with the 16 part fold of the square. Lining the right creases would might help.
Loved the video, I wish there's a commentary. The leaf part is very tricky, And yes at the end I cannot get the flap long enough. I used A4 paper.Please HELP!

i know this of by heart now as i am making loads for loads of occasion. i have a lord of the rings friend who loves legolas greenleaf so i get green paper and the green leaf represents his second name greenleaf and also hes an elf and elves weirdly reminds me of leaves!!!!!

how di you get the leaf in other colour and the envelope in diferrent colour. did you paint it
I can't seem to make this work. At the end, I can't get the flap long enough to fold back around and tuck next to the leaf. I used A4 paper even. I don't get where it went bad.
