I use strong papers, usually 30x30cm washi paper with 25gr/m. The best paper I`ve used so far was a paper called Thai Unryu, I just had to prepare the paper with CMC glue and the result was perfect (unfortunatly I didnt take any pictures, and it was a gift so I dont have it anymore) Robert J. Lang uses a paper called Hanji (korean paper) All those papers are made from mitsumata tree variations, so it` s almost the same thing, and they are all expensive.
There's the second part. I never had any instructions other than the CP and I did make this. This is one of the most difficult origami rose you'll find SO if you are not very very used with making origami it will be almost impossible to make this one. Don't blame me for putting videos to help everyone to make this, or would it be easier without it?
this part you must carefully curl each petal, so you need a good paper to be able to do this or wet fold it with cmc glue. Try using tissue foil, it suits perfectly for this.(But wet folding is the best way)
Ken means "Like" in some language, so, it would be something like "A Miura Like Beauty Rose" Also, this name is made to be similar to the other well known rose called "American Beauty Rose"
to make it perfect you MUST use the right paper and right techniques. I made once with a unryu paper glued in a aluminum foil. You can also use another paper and wet fold it and treat the paper using CMC glue.
@CirciSurfMusic Yes, this is a complex origami. And it's harder than the kawasaki rose. I got an e-mail showing an easier process, i'll make the tutorial later.
Yes, but only if in the end you use CMC or any kind of glue and wet fold the paper. Sculpturing is the most difficult part, so using printer paper requires using this techniques. Try to find something bout CMC glue, it´s nice to have this to improve a lot your origami skills.
No pain,No gain. this is a very vital thing to remember, especially when you want to learn complex origami. like this rose, just looking at it and I could tell that it's not easy to make. But,well since it's not easy,I didn't say it's hard :) I just think it's complex... takes time,if this rose is your goal, practice on easier but complex origamis. that's my tip for Origami, the Art of paper folding.
Hi, I already did this flower some time ago but after watching it I'd really like to make one again. I watched your video with the origami flowers you did and the kawasaki rose and this one captured my interest the most. I have a request on you - PLEASE could you ever make a tutorial on how to make a kawasaki rose or a Miura-ken Beauty rose without using a CP? I'd really appreciate it. thanks
Oh, It's really difficult. But when I thought carefully about ur sentence : "make the same thing in the next line.", I got it. It's not im portant how u do it, It's important that what it will be next.
@BCtrumpeteer he's speaking in Portuguese from Brazil, it's not so easy to learn, but I speak this language since I was a kid. I'm brazilian, uahuahuahua
@FireRupee Yes, you know, since my post I have realized that there was less to that task than I was expecting. Not that my rose is beautiful, though! I think I will need better paper. Yeah, that's the problem...the paper! LOL.
@tadashimori I'm just nervous that you didn't show the final folding in this video (to make that circle), so I had no idea how the fold should look like, and it completely screwed up my rose :(
are there any instructions for a stem? i mostly was looking for a really nice realistic origami rose stem which seems to be very hard to find (not the tacky fat whole leaf beginner ones)
Yeah this is prettyr hard model at least for me..I'm able to make ryu jin 3.5's head ,legs and tail..but cant make this f**** rose(I can make the base but cant shape it).
At the beginning of the video, you have a diagram drawn on the paper. Can you put up the measurements? I can't tell where the lines are supposed to be just from looking at it :/
hi, well i saw your video of the ancient dragon, and I loved it as I am I have the book by Satoshi Kamiya, but to get to step 23 onwards until 27 I think it is, I have wrinkles around the paper, but in order that no I can understand are the specification if you could make a minitutorial on those steps I would appreciate it a lot or very simple images on folds
@YourLocalOtaku I did make 2 new videos. The link is on the video description.
I use strong papers, usually 30x30cm washi paper with 25gr/m.
The best paper I`ve used so far was a paper called Thai Unryu, I just had to prepare the paper with CMC glue and the result was perfect (unfortunatly I didnt take any pictures, and it was a gift so I dont have it anymore)

I found the whole diagram on the internet but began with your steps! My mum loved it for mother's day! Thx!
hahaha, I spent about one week to make this rose perfectly for the first time xD. The photo is on my website
this part you must carefully curl each petal, so you need a good paper to be able to do this or wet fold it with cmc glue. Try using tissue foil, it suits perfectly for this.(But wet folding is the best way)
yeah... I just didnt feel like making it again.... the new videos have better subtitles, i´m still learning.
Ken means "Like" in some language, so, it would be something like "A Miura Like Beauty Rose"

to make it perfect you MUST use the right paper and right techniques.

Thanks so much for the English subtitles!! Your origami is beautiful! Definately going to try it!! :)
that is the most beautiful origami rose ive ever seen.
@katheeishcoolz777 its on the video description.
amazing origami rose
hm... ok, but there´s no CP nor diagram for those origamis... I can´t make it just by looking it. sorry
Well, k, i´ll make the second part of the video, but only later.
that's a lot of work, i think it's a perfect simple gift for my friends GF, simple, but full of effort ♥
@chinlei50 The paper isnt really that special, you can make it with tissue paper, or any kind of strong paper.
lol -scratches head at 5:51 - XD
pretty cool orgami btw, and you fold really fast
I hope that my own origami rose be like your´s. Thanks for posting your video!!!!
The structure of this rose is quite "simple" compared to most models out there, but it is DAMN difficult to get right.
Nice rose : )
it's difficult but...it´s so beautiful that i will try to do it...nice tutorial thankss
awww! i love it!! i will definately be trying to make these this weekend!
wich one? there´s no CP for the butterfly there.
Alright. I'll try with the correct paper. Now I just need to get a hold of it somehow. Thank you.
That's gorgeous!
@zhu13 Well, basically... yes.
But I know the results of each kind of fold even before I fold it, so it's a trial an error, but only in my mind.
well, I`ll make the second part of this video, but this statement is kinda wrong... as folding the CP is not easy
Essa rosa fica mesmo muito linda!!! Parabéns!!! Vídeo ficou show juntamente com a rosa!!!

It's not im portant how u do it, It's important that what it will be next.

Hm.. aqui o link tah funcionando.

Meu Deus! Que paciência pra fazer isso... ¬¬
Thank you.
i dunno bout you guys but this rose is even more beautiful rose than kawasaki rose, but it's complicated a lot!
AMEI!!!! muito fácil e muito verdadeira
nope, portuguese, I´m from Brasil.
Awesome man
muy buen video!
realmente algo complicado xD
pero genial!
is the paper you are using similar to a square origami paper and does the paper have to be colored on both sides?
it´s portuguese.
You actually got it look like it?!?! I always get to the end but can't sculpture it into the final result. Can you please assist me somehow?

@BCtrumpeteer he's speaking in Portuguese from Brazil, it's not so easy to learn, but I speak this language since I was a kid. I'm brazilian, uahuahuahua
looks good
Much better if you put numbers each row or column for much easier steps to follow.
this kinda remind me the origami magic ball (the part of the weird folding )
At least mine's ready for the trashcan in the end...
@tadashimori how did you learn to read CPs??
I really want to know
did u spend hours on it trying to figure it out??
Nunca que eu soubesse que Tadashi Mori é brasileiro.
LMAO @ ninja... It's all good... One look at the video and I said OH HELL NO, too much for me brain..
XD ack! speeding up the vid totally killed me
i can tell that kawasaki rose is easier, this one is hare but it is beauty too, kawasaki is easy and nice. thats all.
no no, you misunderstood me. I didn't made the whole thing, just until the end of the video, the sculpturing is too difficult for me too :(
yeah, that's not that difficult but the "sculpturing" of the rose is so hard
sorry for the wait :p
@FireRupee Yes, you know, since my post I have realized that there was less to that task than I was expecting. Not that my rose is beautiful, though! I think I will need better paper. Yeah, that's the problem...the paper! LOL.
that difficult!! two days later to finish it but I'm very nice :( but if I went crazy
locaaaa jajaja
@tadashimori I'm just nervous that you didn't show the final folding in this video (to make that circle), so I had no idea how the fold should look like, and it completely screwed up my rose :(
are there any instructions for a stem? i mostly was looking for a really nice realistic origami rose stem which seems to be very hard to find (not the tacky fat whole leaf beginner ones)
@chinlei50 But he did! The link is in the video description. Rule #1: ALWAYS check the video description if you have problems.
To whoever did the captions...it's not possible to read white text written on a white image. XD
If I attempt to make this origami, I'm pretty sure it will end up a crumpled mess
Yeah this is prettyr hard model at least for me..I'm able to make ryu jin 3.5's head ,legs and tail..but cant make this f**** rose(I can make the base but cant shape it).
i spent 4 1/2 hours trying to make this!!! i gave up!
At the beginning of the video, you have a diagram drawn on the paper. Can you put up the measurements? I can't tell where the lines are supposed to be just from looking at it :/
hi, well i saw your video of the ancient dragon, and I loved it as I am
I have the book by Satoshi Kamiya, but to get to step 23 onwards
until 27 I think it is, I have wrinkles around the paper, but in order that no
I can understand are the specification if you could make a minitutorial
on those steps I would appreciate it a lot or very simple images on
folds
YAY AFTER 4 HOURS I MADE A SNOWBALL
