Thanks for the video.Does it ever have a negative impact on ones nervous system being a counsellor? and would a counsellor take SSRI medication to combat an issue like this ?

Hi! I got a BA Major in Psychology, Minor in Counselling & Human Development and I went to a private college to study counselling and got registered as a professional counsellor 😊

@@HeatherThomCounselling thanks for the response ❣️🙏🏽I have been interested in psychology/counseling. However, most of my research indicates that I would likely need a masters to make a good living. The issue with me getting a Masters is that I am prioritizing time and money. Ideally it would be nice if I could get a good job with a bachelors in this field. Would you say that’s true? Also what country or state do you reside in? I live in California so maybe the education requirements in my state are different than yours!

Yes, depending on where you live, the requirements for the field may be different. I'm in Canada and since I'm registered with an association here, I can practice without a Masters because the counselling program I attended was very intensive. However, not all insurance companies will cover services from a professional counsellor and will only cover clinical counsellors, so that's the main downside of not having a Masters degree. In the future, I would like to get my Masters, however, I'm still able to practice with my current credentials. I understand that completing your Masters is very time consuming and also expensive. Perhaps it's worthwhile to see what kinds of jobs you can get that is related to counselling with you BA? And you can always plan towards an MA in the future? Wishing you all the best 😊
