This is at the point where Freddie had told the others “Just keep writing and giving me things to sing, darlings”... the final songs in his voice were almost all written by the others.
Brian wrote a major masterpiece with this one.

There is a Queen song for every mood, every occasion, every situation. The Show Must Go On is so fitting right now on so many levels. Thank you for this reaction. I'm also glad you waited a while to do this particular song. I feel that a lot of reactors/budding Queen fans get to it too early and don't have enough appreciation or context for it. Of course, it's an incredible song in and of itself. But knowing what's behind it makes it even *more* powerful.

This is one of my favorite songs and I think maybe the best song ever. Freddie's vocal are just exquisite. To be able to sing like that when he was so ill is a testament to his love of singing and his singing ability. There will never be another Freddie.
Faith, your message today was so right on. Your passion for what you are saying shows and you said it so well. It's unfortunate that there are selfish and negative people in our world, but the love will always win out. Positivity breeds positivity and negativity breeds negativity so we need to be as positive as possible and not let those few negative people effect us. Don't let those whose hearts and spirits are darkened displace the love and light in ours. Keep the faith.

Brian May write this song because they knew Freddie didn’t have long left to live. The vocals were done in 1 take and because he was no longer smoking or drinking, this is arguably his best studio vocal performance he ever did.

Yes, Freddie Mercury even told his sound engineer and dear friend, Reinhold Mack, when Freddie was asked about whether or not he wanted a cigarette, " no darling, don't you know they'll kill me?". Of course Freddie Mercury knew that he was going to die but just that he wanted longer to live and finish his work

One of my favorite songs from Queen despite how sad it is. Despite how sick he was and how tired or how much pain he was in, Freddie was so committed to his music, his fans, and his friends. All he wanted was to continue making music for as long as he could and keep living every second of his life to the fullest. What an incredible, brave man. And what an incredible message and song to leave us with. ❤️ Rest in power and peace, Freddie.

It was _one_ of their last songs that Freddie recorded because Freddie was so ill that *_he could barely stand up._* So Brian May wrote the Song and didn't know if Freddie was able to Sing the high parts good enough. Here is maybe something better I got from Wikipedia xD (it's a *_true_* Story). *When Brian May presented the final demo to Mercury, he had doubts that Mercury would be physically capable of singing the song's highly demanding vocal line, due to the extent of his illness at the time. To May's surprise, when the time came to record the vocals, Mercury consumed a measure of vodka and said **_"I'll fucking do it, darling!"._* Freddie did that masterpiece in 1 Take. THAT MAN has something called _Real Determination._ He Loved music and He Loved his Fans, His Voice already was in Heaven but we could still hear it. Which man in this World would sing his ass off and Hit a *Legendary D5 Note* like that one, with an illness like that. ( the Line starts at 13:11, The Note is exactly on 13:17). Also the Lyrics on this song were really about Freddie. ''I'll soon be turning, 'round the corner now'' I don't know if turning around the corner has the same meaning in English like in German, but if I would translate it in German it is another way to say ''I'll be dying'' (11:45 for that Line) But in general the Lyrics are already deep. Oh and as you probably Noticed in the Music Video, these are just some clips of many different music Video's because Freddie already was too ill to do music videos. (his last music video was These are the Days of our Lives, His Last words in that Music Video are really Special. Also He knew that it would be his Last Music Video) But the Show still Must Go On.

Not much more that I can say that others have not. I have never been able to listen to this song or watch this video without crying - but right now I am weeping from a place so deep inside. If Freddie could still put out such an amazing vocal when he was in so much pain and knowing that he had very little time left, then certainly we can all do our best to muster up the strength to be positive, think of others and do whatever we can to get through this collectively, and on our own. Thank you, dear Faith, for another powerful reaction. Yes, we must be better humans - the best we can be right now. Much love, Faith! #TheShowMustGoOn #spreadlovenothate

    Oh my dear...!!!
This song is amazing and talented... Freddie puts the best of himself .. nearly to death... he gave us all his love in this song.
“Mother love” was his last tape recording, but he couldn’t finish... was Brian who sang the last verses.
“These are the days of our lives”, was his last video, which he finished looking us directly into the eyes, and saying “I still love you”.
And “A Winter’s Tale," was the last song Freddie wrote, whose official video shows Freddie's handwriting.
This song was inspired by the beauty of winter at the Lac Leman, in Montreux, Switzerland .., where he was recording and stayed until three weeks before he returned to London ... to die, on November 24, 1991.
“The hardest track to record was probably 'A Winters Tale' for emotional and technical reasons. The singing was done over two weeks , every two days some rest for Freddie and then waiting for him to be well enough to come and sing a little bit more again.”
Palabras de David Richards, productor de los últimos albums de QUEEN, en Montreux.
    💔💔💔💔

One of my favorite Queen songs. Brian wrote it about Freddie's situation. He was so sick when recording this he could harldy stand up but you can barely tell. I think this is vocally his best.(this and In My Defence. Check it out, it's his own song) The others wasn't sure if he was able to sing it, but he downed a glass of vodka and said "I'll fucking do it, darling" and then just killed it. Amazing ❤❤❤ He qas so strong. I get emotional when I listen to it too from time to time. Especially when you know what the song is actually about. Would've loved to hear him sing this live.

This song was recorded approximately May 1991 and Freddie died in November 1991. Brian May wrote this song for Freddie as he was still recording virtually up until the day he died. They were in the studio and Brian could see that Freddie was so fragile and ill and he told him that they could do it another time when he felt more able and Freddie's reply was to knock down a tumbler of Vodka and quipped "I'll f***ing do this darling" (or words very similar) and he did, he recorded the song in ONE take. The timescales show how close to death he was but his voice was faultless to the end. The line "Outside the dawn is breaking but inside in the dark I'm aching to be free" was how Freddie became virtually a prisoner in his own home because the press were continuously camped outside Garden Lodge (his beloved home). The press hounded him as visibly everyone could see how fragile and ill Freddie was but no knew what was wrong with him. Freddie never went public with his AIDS diagnosis until 24 hours before he died in order to protect his loved ones. However, as usual, this didn't stop the British press from camping outside Garden Lodge waiting for a glimpse or a flicker of him from his bedroom balcony , and in doing so virtually made him a prisoner in his own home, hence the line "Outside the dawn is breaking but inside in the dark I''m aching to be free". RIP my hero forever Freddie Mercury xxxxx
Very adept song in response to the heartbreaking crisis around the world, take care everyone and stay safe and give love where love is needed xx

One of Freddies best vocal performances!
Brian wrote this song as a way to express what he thought Freddie could be feeling as his life was (by this time quickly) coming to an end. Freddie read the lyrics and didn't change a thing, even the higher notes that Brian didn't think he'd be capable of singing bc of his illness. Freddie never talked about his illness, never complained and never accepted any pity so this is a rare glimpse into what he was feeling and going thru at the time.
As others have said, Freddie did the hardest parts of the song in one take after downing a shot of vodka (Freddie: oh I'll just f**cking do it, darling!). As you go thru documentaries, I'm sure you'll see Brian talk about this. No live shows for this one, not even a current music video bc Freddie was too sick at the time.

I send you a big virtual hug. Am 2 weeks into lockdown here. I have been overwhelmed by the sheer amount of 'virtual' contact I have. I am in Scotland and am talking to friends, family, work colleagues all over the World using Skype etc. What this situation has done is make us all be more open, sharing concerns, helping each other, cheering each other on, even creating groups with people who would never have met, like family and work folks, and there is actually a different closeness that has been generated by this separation. My daughter had a 'works night in' last night. The rest of us were at a concert played live for us by a band who have had to cancel tours - we were the virtual audience and it was thrilling. You are well placed to be one of the people making a difference right now, and you are! Have you thought about doing a gig, a wee sing song is enough lol? We have seen whole orchestras and choirs manage it, the tech is available, I would def turn up!!👍😀 Dont ever stop doing this, spread the love, accept the love, there is so much of it out there. The news tends to focus on the negatives but there is joy and kindness to be seen, many are rising to the ocassion . Stay your way, always Faith.😁
I have the virus right now, so far it looks like I have been lucky and its mild. Am now well enough to be watching you again🤩. Oh I can’t watch right now but had to read through everyone’s beautiful comments ❤️
This is a snippet of an interview Brian gave after Freddie’s death about this song and what the band was facing.
“When it was time to record the track (The Show Must Go On) Freddie could barely stand. ‘I said, “Fred, I don’t know if this is going to be possible to sing,”’ Brian told Rolling Stone. And he went, “I’ll fucking do it, darling” -vodka down -and went in and killed it.’ Freddie would not talk about his illness, but he was putting it out there in the music. ‘Songs like “The Show Must Go On”, in my case, or “These Are the Days of Our Lives’, in Roger’s case, were things that we gave to Freddie as a way of him working through stuff with us,’ said Brian. ‘The Show Must Go On’ did not stint on the drama or the directness of its message. “
Someone mentioned the last song Freddie wrote, A Winter’s Tale” it’s a beautiful testament to Freddie’s resolve in not letting his illness dampen his spirit for living & appreciating the beauty in the world. He wrote it while sitting on the porch, looking out over the lake of “the duck house” which was where Freddie stayed while in Montreux. It’s both inspirational & beautiful.

Faith, just hang in there! We will get past this current situation. Please do not allow others to steal your joy. I am also angry with the selfish people who are making matters worse but I cannot change them. What can be done is donate blood, conduct food drives for people hit with loss of income right now, and model the behavior being asked to reduce the growth of this thing. Other folks have commented and I agree with their recommendation. Please react to Queen’s official video for “The Miracle” 🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶 This song was written by Freddie and Deaky. The song reflects optimism despite Freddie’s declining health. This video is the cutest one Queen ever did. 🤩🥰🤩🥰🤩🥰 Freddie’s music at this time really imparts his desire for people to love one another. Another great one to react to during this era of Queen is “Innuendo” it is a true masterpiece both musically and lyrically! Consider it a sibling to “Bohemian Rhapsody”. You will definitely need to analyze the lyrics after taking the song in. Remember Faith, you are loved! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It's hard to see the positive things in these times. Your videos are one of the positive things along with the Queen songs. We need to listen just once to the rules that are being made. I've never been a huge queen fan , I think I only knew songs like " we will rock you " & " we are the champions " the first time I heard this song was from Dimash live in London with a friend who invited me and I loved Dimash ever since then . After that I researched the story of the original song and heard it with Freddie's voice and couldn't stop myself from crying . Now I don't think there's a queen song that I haven't heard espicially the ones that Freddie sang live on stage .
R.I.P the best rock singer of all time and the show will always go on .

My sister passed away on 5th June 2019 aged 35 from Cancer. She and I are massive Queen fan. This was one of her funeral songs as she loved it but also that was the way she was. No matter how sick or terrible she felt she put on her make up and a smile and just got on with it. I wish I was as strong as both her and Freddie Mercury were! Missing her lots so watching reactions to my favourite Queen/Freddie songs x

This song was written by Brian and sane by Freddy when he was very ill. He couldn't even stand up. He had to sing it sitting down. We should all take a lesson from Freddy. He never gave up. And we shouldn't either. Rest in peace Freddie Mercury

I’m sorry things are hitting you so hard right now. This is the perfect song to listen to. If Freddie could sing like that when he was in pain and could barely walk or stand - and sing about facing his illness with a grin and never giving in - then we can too. Another timely song from them is “The Miracle”. It’s all about what they wish for the state of the world, and the video is so cute and uplifting.

It is.. a powerful song.. your first half of the video of you talking was very powerful too... awesome 🥺👍 If you want a powerful song, emotionally, listen to “Who Wants To Live Forever” it’s another song Brian May write for Freddie knowing he wasn’t gonna live that much longer.. 🥺 Now for a song that REALLY gets to me? No one but you (Only the good die young) If you react, make sure it’s by queen and not Billy Joel 😆 This song was written after Freddie’s death by the band... They are amazing. Thank you and stay safe in this crisis Tap Life Family!!

It’s so strange how the lessons of AIDS and Ebola, MERS and SARS seem to have been forgotten. Before all this craziness, I was looking forward to celebrating my 55 th birthday this past March. Ah such is life. I feel so much worse for the kids who will miss their proms, ring dances, their graduation their graduation parties. The kids who were going for high school and academic records/ accomplishments. They will never get those experiences back. Faith thank you ! Your speaking voice is so comforting. You are one very well spoken. Love, kindness, thoughtfulness and selflessness are in sharp focus. I live in Baltimore, and we have a bunch of “protesters “ violating the quarantine. I don’t think these people have considered what will happen if our food sources become infected. If the truck drivers are stricken, we are, as they say, SOL. There are now 9 meat packing plants CLOSED due to illness. Please everyone, stay home, stay safe and be well. Being a caring, loving member of the global community, THATS real strength.

A powerful song. The spanish youtuber, Jaime Altozano, in his first video about Covid-19 he ask for songs about illness, deaths and how face its, and then quoted The Show Must Go On. Jaime is a young music disclouser (almost all his (very goods) videos has english subtitles, he is a very good youtuber, he even interview Hans Zimmer)
