For me this is kind of ironic I have a couple of Orphan Furbies here myself. Back when I used to have a eBay account I rehomed quite a few of them I kept finding them dumped and abandoned multiple times one of them was ironically a gremlin model that was missing an ear that I found in a trash can I think it was a Walmart parking lot trash can. I'd randomly get them at yard sales or find one on the side of the road that sort of thing right now I've got a later model Furby with the really weird digital eyes that's sitting on a shelf here and if I do some poking around yeah I see the other little bugger I've got one that's kind of janky and missing an ear gray and I think pink it was the last one that I found on the side of the road where somebody throw it a box of toys a few years ago. Nobody wants it because the fur is all jacked up and he's missing an ear. I don't know why some people find them creepy. It's funny that the NSA didn't just reverse engineer one and confirm whether or not they were being used for spying on them. Would have been simple enough to yank one apart.
this is probably never gonna get read but, would you be able to put out a separate, one-off download for the furby files anywhere other than pootreon?
I'd join just for them but the price is way too expensive in my local currency-- more than a regular used furby!

I had a beautiful daughter from 2005, my cousin and her cousin decided to see what my daughter looked like without fur and they ripped it off. The most traumatic moment of my young life. I miss her sweet voice every day.

That part in the face that you put a sticker on, the kinda fan shape between the eyes is where a light sensor is for the furby, mostly it can tell if it's in the dark or if there's a sudden bright light. If it's in the dark furbies usually go to sleep.
Correct! And it also uses it to communicate with other Furbys via specific infrared codes, which just happen to match the codes in a lot of TV remotes- so you can actually control a Furby (to a degree) using a TV remote! That's how I got a large majority of the sounds for this project.
@@AustinBradley the furby "codes" matching normal household appliance "codes" is probably why so many acted weird and why there was so many creepy furby stories.

The majority of the work was simplified by making use of a PicoTalk system- a very powerful yet simple controller!

Me and my uncle had one when we were kids and hated them. His would always randomly start talking so we did what any kid would do and took it out side and played baseball with it. The eye was like hanging out and it kept going and talking to us. never again

Talc or cornstarch is "stickier" than flour. Try one or both next time. I think cornstarch is good. I used to use those for help untangling cord monsters.
I absolutely think Furbies are adorable tbh, once you realize how they work it’s not scary whatsoever (I was also forced to sleep in the same room of like 12 of them for like 3 years so that probably helped)
Oh I’ve become mostly desensitized to them now- I only get spooked when they do something I’m not used to them doing, like playing with the kitchen knives or something like that.
I’m here from Evan and Katelyns video, and overall it was super cool to see this whole side of the project
Also just based on how solid the editing was I was surprised by the size of the channel, really good stuff! Deserves way more subs

I work on research in a robotics lab that uses those quadruped robots like the one that Evan and Katelyn have (just an earlier revision) and one of our lab members saw the video and shared it around to all of us. Excellent work on making the cursed part of this contraption. You've got a nice setup and a great process - the result looks fantastic (and horrifying yet amazing in its final form)! I think this project gave another reason for the labs next to ours to fear our robots even more!

I still love furbies and love how the community evolved over time with long, artists monster of it and now. I missed the face masked one video and i love it, only if it more enlarged to make it usable and you can eat whilw wearing it.

I collect furbys. I have six 90's furbys, a 2005 furby, two furby boom's, two furblings, and a 2023 furby. And i must say, as a proud furby collector this has made me very VERY happy.
But please do remind Evan and Katlyn to do the nightly feeding ritual, every furby demands it be done or else thy soul of thy owner shall be damned for all eternity.

I work at a facility that does industrial scale 3d scanning. One of the things a sister facility uses for reflective surfaces is athlete's foot spray. We havent tried it yet, but it's worth a shot next time you have to scan a difficult subject

One of the things I am really impressed by is how well you captured the voice for some of the custom lines, it's so seamless.
It took a lot of time and effort! I had a whole segment about it in the video at first, but I had to cut it out because it didn’t fit very well. I might go over my process some other time!
