"Say.....I could've sworn you were a blonde, Mrs. Flintstone...." PSH! You kidding me?? How can anyone mistake that tangerine orange wig for blonde????!!!!
I was puzzled by that exchange from the first viewing as well. I went to school with a brother and sister who were 'redheads'. If you were to draw them, you would have used the orange crayon for his hair and the yellow crayon for her hair. My sister said the girl was a 'strawberry blonde'. But the red orange color of Wilma's hair was never blonde anything.
sexobscura Marylin. Lol! I remember first learning about him in this TH-cam upload of an episode of this British tv show from the 80’s called South of Watford! It had interviews with Marilyn, Pete Burns, Ollie Wisdom and Jon Klein from the band Specimen, and it even talked about Boy George!
The person who did the voice of Barney Rubble in "The Flintstones" was a man by the name of Mel Blanc who was the person who did the original voice of every single "Looney Tunes" character.
There were a few other uncredited voice actors in the Looney Tunes cartoons who did voices for some of the characters including Stan Freberg who was the voice of Pete Puma and Joe Dougherty who was the original voice of Porky Pig from 1935-1937. Even director Bob Clampett and another uncredited actor, Tedd Pierce did some voices.
Douglas Roth Arthur Q Bryan voiced all of Elmer Fudd's voices through 1959, when he died. Mel Blanc took over from then. June Foray, the voice of Rocky of Rocky & Bullwinkle fame, voiced the witch in the Bugs Bunny cartoons. Mel Blanc had a provision in his Warner Brothers contract that he would be the only voice credit in the Looney Tunes & Merrie Melodies shorts.
Well you see, back then, it was simply a form of disguise. It wasn’t something they did on a daily basis. At the end of the day, they went to bed with the dresses, make up, and wigs all off and discarded. Plus, I recall an episode where Wilma and Betty disguise themselves as men to sneak into a club by wearing fake beards.
All the prehistoric men have very noticeable beard stubble, so it’s reasonable that that was at least acknowledged here - but somehow the host didn’t notice it on the “girls” at the beginning - ?
So that's why In the opening credits Fred is seen getting off work and picking up a red outfit from the tailor, it wasn't his or his wife's he takes it home... And then one episode when they bought sweepstakes tickets you can see inside Barney's closet and he has a red outfit . Now I know what it was used for...
I Still Totally Think That Maybe It Would’ve Been A Lot Cooler If The Equistria Girls And The Scooby-Doo Gang Enjoyed Constantly Hanging Out With The Flintstones And The Rubbles
"Ohhhh, I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay.. I sleep all night and I work all day... I cut down trees, I eat my lunch And go to the lava-tree On Wednesdays, I go shoppin' and have butter scones and tea! One of my all-time favorites from this show. I know most of the episodes by heart.
Thats Mel Blanc the voice of bugs and so many other cartoon voices. Mel was a support cast memeber of The Flintstone's
