To this day I still watch cartoons like this, and I'm 58 years old. Kids today don't know what good cartoons are like, especially when they were on Saturday mornings. I miss those days.
Same for me (general exceptions: the Ann-Margret (1963, fourth season), Bewtiched crossover (1965, final and sixth season) which were less laugh heavy even for what they were. But both are chamring and funny. (after this, I'll reply to Lava1964's comment on the show's (superioir IMO) earliest seasons above).
Even though The Flintstones was patterned after The Honeymooners, I feel situations like Fred slamming the board on Barney's nose to be something the Three Stooges would do.

Let’s not forget that the wives had the wisdom to make sure that their husbands still wound up friends. Wilma and Betty were the type of women that every guy should aim to marry. Wise enough to let the husbands go as far as they dared, but having the foresight to say no when the breaking point was close. Although Fred would be in deeper trouble thanks to a neighbor who called the cops on the party. Barney would bail Fred out and give him a piece of cake so it all ended with the boys being friends again. As for the longevity of the Flintstones I think it’s a classic in every way and truly still worth watching. In the Jetsons, a reference was made and the 6 millionth rerun of The Flintstones was made. That was a great line well spoken.
The reason they don't broadcast full episode is yes copyright but they want you to purchase full episodes..I just like to get them on dvd and and I have the first 2 seasons which are the best but I plan on getting all 6 seasons...so only 4 more seasons to go!
