when clamping I always insert another piece of wood to help distribute the clamping pressure otherwise you get inconsistent pressures which can leave gaps plus clamping marks.
Thank you for that idea. Yes clamping cauls are excellent I use them as well. The clamps from R&R Clamp have a rubber pad on the jaws which prevents marking. Once again, Thank you for the helpful comments! Scott
Thx Doug. Never had a serious issue in the past but you do have to wipe it off the threads. I put a wet cloth or sponge on the ready-rod and turn the drill on. Seems to work well. Crusty stuff takes a bit more effort but it comes off.
I cannot stop watching your videos, never seen those table clamps before, and that dam festool domino, man I want one of them, since I retired, ex military, I’ve been telling myself it’s too expensive, but I really do. Did u buy the 700 as your first domino? As hobbyist should I just go for the 500?
I'm excited to hear you enjoy the videos! Thank you. I'm a retired police officer with 30 years "rolling around in the mud, the blood, and the beer" - so we have lots in common. The clamps are awesome. I bought the first batch from a small tool store 30 years ago. Great concept. The Domino - of all my Festool collection - is my favourite and really a ground-breaking tool. I originally ordered the 500 but once I took it out of the box, I realized that it was too small for my needs so I promptly shipped it back and got the 700. It's almost like Festool should have made one in the middle of the 500 and 700. I use mine for railings and doors, but also for cabinetry. The 8mm cutter is just right for connecting cabinets, if need be. I couldn't see the need for the teeny, tiny dominos that the 500 can do. But I don't make jewelry boxes. You may need to see a grief counsellor after you pull the trigger on a Domino machine; but it's a tool for life and you'll love it. By the way, I'm not sponsored etc so I have nothing to gain from promoting Festool. Take care and keep making sawdust. It's good therapy.
Billy, I made it. I simply ripped some 3/4" oak into 5/16" strips and glued it onto the plywood. I have another video on edging plywood. th-cam.com/video/SbhK5uIydsE/w-d-xo.html, Cheers Scott
Looks so amazing. The grain is beautiful!
Thank you so much!

Great job. Do you have issue with squeeze out getting into the threads or does it clean itself out easily?

Thank you so much. I have many more coming.@@Billy_bSLAYER
Could have made that in a half hr with pocket holes combined with the dominos.
That combination is a good one.
