Marching Saints Overture (Amber Hooton)

This piece was written especially for our cultural exchange with Normandy's Harmonie de Courseulles, with support from the Victoria Wood Foundation. Arranging the gospel and jazz standard 'When The Saints Going Marching In', best known to the people of St Helens as the anthem for their world-famous rugby league team, the Saints, this piece is a lively celebration of St Helens culture.

The well-known "When the Saints Going Marching In" arrangement is novel and well-done. My only small and humble comment (we are a musical family), is waiting for the actual tune which was very nicely played. Introduction slightly too long? Rosa Larsen
