- It was bound to happen, our Tesla gets in an accident. At Least Lincoln wasn't the one that caused the accident and #tesla sentry mode catches the entire thing. We will document the process and see how long it takes for Tesla Service and body to repair the car.

pro tip to Lincoln. I park my car the furthest stalls from the Mall, stores I'm going to that are usually empty. Walk the distance to the store. The car will be safer, I get a bit of exercise. It's easier to leave by just driving away. There is really no reason to spend the time and effort circling a parking lot to find the closest space. You would spend less time honestly just walking from the worst spot. If in doubt, do a video test and find out if you save time trying to find a close space and maneuvering around cars parked tightly or parking a distance away in empty slots and walking.
Also park the car straight, the insurance company can and will use any excuse to not pay and the next time you get a warning on the phone, don't wait until you have finished what you are doing.

@@RogueJedi501I’ve park far away a lot of time never had happen to me beside a lady park so dam close to my car I thought she scrape my car but she didn’t while I’m park so close the curb that where I park at and leave space on the passenger side for people and my mom to open their door easy.

all i can say is that you have the upper hand in this situation because you have the 360° footage of the accident. glad your son is safe and not hurt in any type of way and thank goodness the 2 ladies where kind and took full responsibility big fan and keep up the good work!!
when i got in my first accident it took 7 months for my first insurance company (the general) to process the claim luckily nothing came out of it as they were unable to get ahold of lady that filed the claim. glad you're okay lincoln

3 months after getting my temps I was in a head on collision going 45 mph by a drunk driver and drug addict and broke my tibial platue and car was totaled! Front end was all off! Many injuries throughout the family! Going through process of license now almost at 17. Waited a while after that one!
I had a similar accident on my model 3. The longest part for me was waiting to get my car scheduled to the body shop after it was in there it only took a week for me to get my car back and they did an amazing job. I would guess March 17 u get the car back if u can get it to the body shop within this weekend.

Nooooo!!!!! I got in a wreck that totaled my car back in January of 2021… it was a 92 Mazda Miata… and I loved that car. I feel soooo bad for Lincoln and his wreck… luckily it looks repairable, so yea. But I’m glad y’all okay

That's why I was always taught to park in reverse (by my parents and driving instructor) When I was learning I never understood why until we did a demonstration on how it's very hard to gauge the front when compared to the back (don't know how I didn't figure that out myself tbh). I'm glad I've only reversed parked the past year I've owned my provisional license (I live in Australia so I have a provisional license for 3 years). Tho I have no clue how to park driving into a bay now tho haha
Nobody taught me how to reverse park but I taught myself last year when I drove my sister car around to go do stuff I learn it in a fairly empty section of kfc parking lot because my mom was getting food so I did it.

The Tesla camera thing helps me out a lot,sometimes people come in and say that they had a hit and run accident and i help them find whoever did it

Actually you can get a decal sticker that looks like the rear license plate many Tesla owners do that here in Chicago

April 7. You don’t have to have front plates in some states???? Here in Aus country wide you have to have front and rear plates, I think you can apply for slim plates but you gotta have both.
everybody should, but unfortunately people like this grown man think that it's ugly and ruins the aerodynamics instead of being a safety measure.
Just got mine back from super minor paint damage on the front bumper. Took 3 months to even get it into the shop. Wait times are crazy right now!

I also got into an accident in less than two months owning my Tesla model Y, got up to 2,000 miles on it then someone hit the rear right corner and pushed the wheel into the suspension, still waiting to get it back and it was $9,000 total

You don't have to take it to LV. Local body shop can fix and should not void warranty. Traffic was crap that weekend in STG.

Just to correct you you only need a front plate if the car comes with a place to put the plates on the front, if they don't you're fine. Like for example my c300 doesn't have a place to put plates on the front so I don't have to

I work at a body shop and we have cars still in the shop for 1 or 2 months sometimes 3 months depending on the car brand and parts you might get lucky with your car it will need a quarter panel now don’t be scared but sometimes they will total the y out if it is bad enough they are sometimes one hit done

Got into an accident. Drunk driver rear ended me. Took a month for the other insurance company to finally give me a rental. Got into another accident not a week after I got it because someone ran a red light and hit me. Another month goes by before I finally get paid because my car was deemed as a total loss. Two months of not being able to work. It was the worse, and I didn't do anything wrong. I know what Lincon went through. Maybe even more.

So the thing about tesla is that they have to order the parts for a few weeks since they have to get the right color and model and check for any frame/rim damage so it would take around 3 weeks for the tesla to be fixed but the damage cost is around 3k to 5k
Exactly why I want Teslas. I want a Cybertruck but can't currently afford one and, of course, they haven't actually started production. So I'm thinking I'll get a Model Y and if my wife doesn't fall in love with it and want it I can just let my oldest use it when she starts driving in 4 years. I agree, I was thinking 3 months.

I'm also in Utah. I got a speeding ticket last year that included a warning for no front plate. My car has no bracket on the front and I'm not really interested in adding one. I've started to watch more closely since then, and I estimate about 30% of cars in Utah have no front plate.
Utah requires a front plate, but only provides and requires registration stickers/tags for the rear. I moved to UT from MN in 2004. I still had MN plates in 2004 (different car) when a parking cop in SLC ticketed me for not having current stickers on my rear plate. I did have current stickers on the front, but I had a license plate frame on the back that covered up the previous year's expired sticker.

I think the reason why the video was split was to make the file safer cause when a specific time or one file corrupted or damaged the whole video of file is not.

I don’t know why that keep wanted to park there. If I were them, I would not even dare try to since Lincoln parked the car very close to the other persons spot. Though, I think this teaches you a lesson to park your car more centered to your spot.
lol I noticed this as well. parked very badly. see the camera in the top left? the mark down the middle of the road seems straight in the right hand side video, and the car is not perpendicular to that. This is no defence, Lincoln did nothing wrong, but cars parked off angle can definitely make judgements harder for the other drivers.
