    I started with a PID and it can definitely be tricky the first couple runs but once you know how it works with your setup it’s ok, but I just finished building my new SCR controller a couple weeks ago and look forward to giving it a good run when I’m back from working to pay the bills! 🍻

    If you know how to use your pid, you can program what percentage the pid control amperage to your heater element. It’s not 0-100% your can control that percentage. They call it tuning your pid.

    How can you add a bulkhead fitting to run electric without removing the top of your 15 gallon 2” neck? I haven’t found a video on that yet.

    I can't wait for those wiring videos. Just got a keg to start making a bigger still over my Amazon 3 gallon kit

    I searched through your videos I'm not sure if I overlooked it but did you ever get around to making those instructional videos about the SCR controller and how to find and make that box for the element?

    We just welded a hot water heater element with a temp control into the bottom of our keg, works like a charm

    • @kevinlong3992
      @kevinlong3992 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      can you post a link to the temp controller you used?

    • @jasonbritt2497
      @jasonbritt2497 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kevinlong3992 it’s an electric water heater thermostat control. Pull one off an old water heater or get one from any home improvement store.
      Depending on how hot you can get the element you may need two of each, one may not get your keg hot enough

    Did you say the 2k watt would do an 8 gallon pot?

  • @michaeldavis9616

    What wattage element is best for a 15 gallon keg?

    • @bigeaze5711
      @bigeaze5711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1-2000 watt element run off a 110 scr would be plenty for a keg

    Hey Philbilly, love your videos! I was always taught low and slow on heating up my still.
    Do you suggest full blast? Sometimes I get tired of waiting, and think to myself, I should just crank it all the way up….Let me know what you think…

    • @bigeaze5711
      @bigeaze5711 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I crank it until it reaches the thumper then turn it down 25% then when it starts to run I turn it down until I get the drip rate I want

    • @philbillymoonshine7356
      @philbillymoonshine7356  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I crank it wide open until im at about 170

      Just make sure you don't have any solids in your pot and you'll be fine and with an element you have to worry even less about burning any solids that might make it through. If i am not dripping in less then an hour i'm pissed off.

    Although I agree with your views on the PID, not sure why you needed 11 minutes to say that and a lot of rumblings about your set up.

    I perceived with a P I D til I was blue in the face I eventually drop kicked it out the back door and then made a 10,000wt capacity S C R, ( in layman's terms A power dimmer switch) and never looked back, you can dial in P I D's but I just couldn't be fukked.

    there's a thin line, between a tutorial channel, and a comercial channel! you should recognize, that some people see comercials as a treatment and a polution! ;) it's an easey math about profit vs. reputation! ;)

    No links to actual products or components to build your own. Another waisted moment. "I didn't know what to do, what to use....." This video is not a fog lifter.
