11:34 I wonder if a C clamp might work? Maybe a wood shim. I use them to press the cylinders when changing pads. Would this work? Definitely doing this mod BTW. Nice video as always.
Now damn! That is a great idea, I wish I would have thought about that at the time but that would definitely work! You could leave it compressed together till it settles and that may make it easier to get back in. Let me know how it goes once you get yours in. Appreciate that info and I’m sure everyone else will as well!
I did the exact same install last year on my 2020, I watched so many install videos where people struggle to get the rear diff mount back in. I thought you were going to leave the jack on the rear diff and avoid the struggle but you didn't. I was yelling at my screen hoping you could hear me, but you got it in. Hope you enjoy the way it feels now with those beefy bushings, I know I do. great install video.
Naw the jack was in the way and the spacer I had on it was freaking me out cause it hit would fall on me😅, but the diff was a little twisted so I had to move the jack to get it in. I am enjoying the way the car feels! Thank you buddy!
@@MoJoNinjaGarage totally get what you are saying, I was struggling moving around the jack, I’m also smaller than you so it wasn’t to bad for me. Love the quick jacks, definitely on my “want” list
Your reaction @16:56 🤣. I was surprised how much of a difference it made! Thanks for pointing out the differences between the 2020 models and my 2018. This is good info! Thanks for the shoutout man! 🙏🙏
Yeah cause just as I was talking about the feeling I mashed the gas and immediately felt the difference in how it felt when I hit the gas kinda hard! My expressions are out of no where sometimes 😅.
Pheww you fought to get that carrier bracket back in!!! Interesting my 19' WRX diff looks different than yours.. I didn't have the weight bracket when I did the same mod for the diff bushing inserts. I agree with the feeling after the install. It's less jerky and more positive transition when taking off. I also noticed less jerkiness in 1st gear. Great vid as always!
Maybe that crazy looking bracket thing is for vibration. like a damper.. I installed them upper inserts in my 2018 FXT and it was a good mod. I sprayed WD40 on the inserts to aid in install. I did not know there was inserts for the lower support bracket.
I take it you have the Limited ??? ... because I have the Limited and that WEIRD bracket at the rear of the diff appears to only be on that specific trim ... I too ponder why it exists ...

You forgot to put white lithium grease on the new bushings. Would've made install a lot easier. Hope you don't hear squeaking from it. How long id the install take you?
@@caryg4638 I am assuming you mean the ones I put in, in the video and I’m pretty sure they can come out with a hook scribe if they needed to come out.
@@MoJoNinjaGarage I contacted twerk solution and they say that once the inserts are in place the mass dampener should not be reinstalled. Like you. I reinstalled it and don't have issues, but perhaps it's better without it?
@@MatthewCPT well that is good to know! But I have not noticed an issue so far, I may revisit this and remove it to verify it can be left off of the car. Appreciate that info sir!
the struggle is real....poor design of the diff brace poly inserts is why I'll skip that part of the install. There is no need for the inserts to add 1/2" of width to the brace mounting area. Or, if I do go through with it, I'm cutting off the rectangular parts that insert into the brace bushing and just let the two pieces of metal hold them in place. That one bushing will still have compliance, just not as much as before. Would it have hurt subaru to just use two solid bushings vs one solid and one with voids???
I talked about what I used, was nothing to special just 1/2 inch ratchet with 17mm wrenches and sockets, a jack, and some sort of cushion or block of wood to be able to hold up the diff and let it down as well. The hard part was getting the carrier back in with the new bushings installed but it is totally doable!
Nice vid man! I just did the same on my 2020 BUT I ended up installing that dampener thing without the washers. I'm getting some slight NVH on lower rpms on deceleration and from time to time a slight click sound on the back. Any added NVH or weird noises on your car after the install? I'm wondering if I should put the washers in. Also I realized that Cobb and SuperPro bushings have a different insert for the MY2020, they look like a better fit and are thinner (maybe to accommodate the dampener?). Curious to hear your thoughts.
Naw I have had no additional sounds, still sounds stock. But I will monitor and report back if anything changes. Appreciate you taking the time to checkout my video!
Appreciate it man! Also because my OCD kicked in I just ordered those superpro SPF4297K bushings to replace the energy suspension ones I have right now (supposedly made for WRX up to 2014). I'll share back any findings.
