Hey Renzic, This is a masterpiece but still makes me sad because my granddad flew for Germany and nearly lost his life to flak and just walked away with only one eye. I remember him telling me how horrible his missions were and he teared up every time talking about the war. Now I have children the same age as I was then asking about the war and I will tell them the same message of how horrible war is. Your channel can show people the horrors of war and still be good videos. Thank you for your videos and I think grandpa would have told you the same thing as I just did. Have a nice day, -Johannes

And I lost my grandfather some years ago so i did complete that chapter a long time ago. He was flawed just like everyone else, for example he hated every russian with a passion because they his family needed to flee out of königsberg (today kalingrad) because the Germans were scared of the Red army. He lost his house and land and never had a chance to get it back. I think at the end he forgave them but not for almost his whole life. I encourage you to keep suggesting videos like this one so that younger People understand the horrors of war.

The music is sad. You can’t watch this with the sound on and not think about the men in those planes dying. I hate Nazism, and I’m so glad they lost the war. But I’m not as inured as I once was, to the terrible price. Dying for a cause is bad; killing for it is worse, yet in this case, it was inescapably necessary.

People should make it clear in the title that this is not actual footage from WW2 but simply from a game such as IL2. Otherwise you are playing the deceptive "Clickbait" game, particularly when the title begins with "WW2 Guncam"!
@@peqbox I didnt see IL-2 and many of the actual gun camera films have become colorized so "COLOR" wouldnt be unusual in the title.. Maybe instead of saying "WW2 Guncam" upfront like Stewart says, it should probably say "Click bait" game guncam or similar and be honest about what we've clicked on.
What surprised me was how fast some of the crew bailed out of the bombers. It is almost like, here comes a P-38, I am out of here, before the fighter fired a shot.
It probably doesn't take too many strikes on your aircraft before you see the writing on the wall. Especially if some of them are cannon strikes. The plane is holed and damaged with rounds coming in. Boom. Time to go!
remember by the time the P-51 came most of the experence german pilotas have all read been shot down. and the huge numbers overwelmed the germans. I once read that often the german pilots were 201-1 odd when they went up

I knew very well a family friend who was a P-38 pilot in Europe. He said without a doubt the P-38's concentrated firepower was like turning a garden hose on someone.

It's fantastic,but some cadres are from games,mb from war thunder and il-2. Because at 1:11 there 2 messeshmits or fockewolf near 2 He.111 and don't react at this p-38. Another reason is maneuvers of this p-38, his lapels at the last moment is so unnatural. Thanks for such videos!
1:09 Amazing accuracy. Those 111s blew up like firecrackers I heard. Hardly any protection for the crew either in terms of armor or anti-aircraft guns. Slow and low flying. The plane did look sporty though.
During the early years of the Great War planes were used for nothing other than reconnaissance, and all hostile pilots exchanged were waves or smiles. It took them less than a year to go from smiles to machine gun fire. And thus, a new, deadly theatre of war had opened it’s curtains to mankind, and the dream of flight became the death of many.
Y'all, this might be some game/phantom residue, but I believe it's the real deal. Late in the war the German pilots were not experienced, the P-38s, like the P-51s, could dominate. You can try to talk me out of it but...scoreboard.

Do not regret your request. Videos like this are important. The simulation is modeled on real battles, battles in which tens of thousands willingly faced terror, pain, and death, in the hope that their sacrifice would make the world a better place. Of course we still have war, and insurrection and riot, and even the occasional pandemic. But planet-devouring world war is now unthinkable. Full-scale world war will remain unthinkable as long as people can feel the horror of unrestrained destruction and massive death. But if the day ever comes when we can watch this video and not cry, we will be doomed to go through it all over again.

Games like IL-2 Great Battles and MSFS 2020 have reached a point where videogames and reality becomes almost indistinguishable.

@@shane99ca The Martin B-36 and the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter carried that nickname, but I have never seen anyone use that term to describe the P-38.
The HE-111 was too independent on it's two engines, one gets hit and the plane instantly goes into a death spiral.
