I have two Knapton twins that I ride for different snow conditions. What I'd really love to see in these boards is something to trim the weight, especially the swing weight. As I get older (45) my knees get a little grumpy if I don't get a perfect pop and have to do any muscle work to complete a spin. It's not a huge deal, but we all know lighter is better with all of our gear. I am surprised with the number of years the twin has been out there hasn't been an effort to carbonize or honeycomb a variant. I understand it would be more expensive, but I think most of Donek's clientele for this board is older and has a bit of money. I'd sure as hell like one about 1kg lighter!
Hey Emily, yeah, this construction has to be in your next board. I'd love your opinion on it too since you've already had a few Knapton Twins and ride em sooo uniquely! Kristin is getting one, so maybe y'all can swap boards for a couple runs again this season. 🏂✌️
Secret is the way to go. The only manufacturer of titanal won't make sheets wide enough for ultra wide boards. Aside from vibration dampening, Secret nicely ups torsional rigidity. Great response and edge hold.
Sweet! Would be interesting to demo a secret construction 30cm+ waist Donek. I have 30cm waist titanal Coiler with 16m scr so would be interesting to see how they compare. I got to ride a standard ultrawide Knapton Twin last season and I really liked it but only had it for a half a run. I'm located in Finland so sadly there aren't good demo options around. Loving this high edge angle carving vibe!
@mooncat.787 161cm, flex 9, waist width 30.5 cm, sidecut 9.2m and bought the Union Falcor bindings because Atlas Pro or FC might be painful to use for more than a couple of rides a day
I bought one of your boards 3 years ago and have been shredding like this for some time now. My back is getting f’d up from all the high G turns. Is yours experiencing the same? I’m sure it’s my technique.
No issues for me either, my best guess without more info would maybe be alignment of spine and upper / lower body while riding, Ryan and Giri watts had a video on that a few years ago, I think in the ABC's series.
Is it possible to get these high angle carves on a board like a Burton custom? I’ve tried last few seasons and it seems like my edge doesn’t want to. Also running into issues with the bindings catching.
I have custom 166X w, well having size 11.5 I can say I need something thicker waist.. so I thinking's about OES DONEK etc... You can take same angles but You need Burton bigger size..
I grabbed a jaysey spw 162 just to see what the tit anal is about should be here Wednesday, but prolly will stay a glass board fellow. I like the pop from my knaptons and flux.🤙
He's saving the new board for after the early season. I'll catch back up with Mike on this topic a bit later in the season once he's got a solid amount of time on the new stick.
I uploaded the wrong file earlier today. Here's the full video. Happy Shreddin' All!
No worries! Were having twice as much fun for the re-upload!
Awesome video, Ryan. Glad to see you back shredding. Stay safe!
I believe I rode with Mike a couple of seasons ago at BC, fun day. Great content Ryan!

I really like the classic "Edge control level: ridiculous" music. And even your Jacket fits🤩👍🏼
Ryan you've found your stunt double. He shreds just like you.
What an amazing ride! I am so impressed!
Your snowboarding is so impressive! I’m still a beginner but I can’t wait to get out on the mountain this season and (hopefully) learn to carve!
great video!!!!
Today, I was literally just wondering what secret construction is!! Wow Mike's really amazing!

Wow, nice runs
Thats some kind of beauty ride.
The power of athletic position and the rest is physics.
Could you do this with any kind of wide beginner snowboard?

My body has never felt better overall. If you have footage of your riding on it, I might be able to help.

@ Maybe I’ll take the plunge this year for a Donek.
@@kalfin2000 don't be rude with a waist +2-3cm or lil but more is pretty enough I think...
@@kalfin2000 If you want those high edge angles you will not regret getting a Donek!
shreddin happy🤤
So cool so cool 😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥

That was sick af!! But what about his opinions?? 😅
