That family was not setup by the pastor. I will say that the pastor should have declined to preside over the funeral if he nothing nice to say. HOWEVER, today everyone always wants nothing but niceties and pleasantries when what they really need is the truth. If the dead man did the mess then oh well… The pastor said what he said… And in my opinion he was nice about it and tried to make it into a teaching moment.

I also am from a rural town in Louisiana and if a pastor got up at a funeral of a young man with his brothers and mother there and slandered him like that, after them being promised he would not, that pastor might be meeting Jesus that day. Tensions are too high for a Pastor to even think to risk something like that.
It was the same movie as Mea Culpa. 😭 Evil villain matriarch with toxic sons, the son married to a high powered fill in the blank, meanwhile he has no job, no ambition and hates his wife with a beefy guy waiting to swoop in and save the day. The Family That Preys is Tyler Perry's best movie. Divorce in the Black was a good movie, but it was rushed in my opinion. I didn't know Ava's parents last name because I don't remember hearing Benji saying Clarence's last name. I only heard the names of two of Corey's brothers called Cody , the deceased, and Morris, the older brother. I wanted to know the names of the other two brothers. I didn't understand how the divorce was finalized before a petition for the divorce. It should take six months for a divorce without any children in most states.
