  • In this video Nick from Patchwerks walks us through his Squarp Hapax setup in his home studio.
Introducing Hapax, the professional standalone sequencer that offers everything needed to compose and perform music in the studio or on stage. With up to a million notes and events, Hapax's dual-processor architecture can record and transform massive amounts of data in no time. It's also the first hardware sequencer that fully supports MIDI Polyphonic Expression, enabling you to record your playing's finest gestures and articulations. Plus, with its adaptive workflow and real-time MIDI effects, Hapax makes it easy to write melodies, compose beats, and bring your synths to life. Great workflow demonstration Nick! Perfect ratio of feature laundry list and application. The automation lanes and assign knobs on the hapax are amazing, it really feels like an extra level of hands on play that eurorack pays out the nose for.

Would you say a OT or DT is a nice addition to a Hapax? Or maybe an overkill and just get a somewhat more "normal" drummachine like a TR8s?

  • @XanderEwald

After watching this a few times, I’m starting to think Hapax might be the way to go for me too. Ableton is great for recording and mixing, but sequencing and syncing a larger hardware setup with it isn’t really fun.

External synths are where it's at anyway and this is the only sequencer I know of that can understand data from MPE controllers/synths.
