Record 34 Bench vice restoration- Quick Release!

Hi guys -
Got the week started with a nice quick release project! Picked this one up a while ago from Facebook and it’s been sat in the garage waiting for the weather to improve.
So glad to have finally got round to doing it - looks so clean and fresh once it’s finished 👍🏼

I just bought a No34 vice (not quick release) and branded Record Steel not Record. I got it and a Record No5 as a pair for 30 quid from a farm auction and the 34 is a belter. I think I’m going to paint it green like yours because it looks bloody fabulous. Cheers for sharing 👍🏻

Just saw your No. 34 restoration. Good Job and thanks for sharing. I have a No. 36 (same but larger jaws) but mine has been really abused. The main screw flange (located near front of main screw and touches front face of moveable jaw and is captive between moveable jaw and front bracket) has been welded and then butchered with an angle grinder. Not even close to round. I would like to repair this but need the correct dimensions: O.D. of Flange; Thickness of flange). Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Cheers John
