Antique Rusty bench Vise - Restoration
In this video I am restoring antique rusty jeweler vise. The vise is very old and has a lot of rust and dirt on it.
I began a plan to restore the vise by removing the hard dirt. I then disassembled all the parts of the vise, after disassembling all the parts of the vise, I applied a 12 volt current to all the parts of the vise to remove the rust from the parts of the vise. Remove welds and casting marks on the vise with a file. I then start hand sanding, I have hand sanded (120 grit) the parts of the vise that are to be painted. For the parts to be buffed, I sanded 120, 220, 320, 400, and 1000 grit. Vise parts to be painted. I spray painted yellow medium on these parts. After this, hot bluing was done on the spring and other parts of the vise to prevent rusting of these parts. After restoring all the vise parts, I reassembled the vise.

I have exactly these in the original, the bottom screw is not turnkey, but with the same mechanism as the main one (clamping)
