As a Swede from Skåne, there is nothing i would rather want than to have us all unite in modern times. We are much more civil today than we were back during the Kalmar Union and I truly think it would actually work out.
I love Sweden as I love Denmark and Norway just as much. Wherever I go within these countries I never feel like a foreigner, I feel at home.

I'd modify it a bit. The reference to the underground is wierd and since we are secular I'd also remove the purely Christian references. If my dream Norden would exist which includes Scotland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Slesvig, Kola, Karelia, and Kaliningrad then geographical references to those areas should be added instead.

Interestingly, the current anthem of Sweden was made as a Pan-Scandinavian song. Well, only the first two stanzas.Later two more were added with specific references to Sweden.

I looked it up you are right. Ireland is Celtic and Finland's people didn't live there all the time and moved to that location (I am not 100% sure about Finland so feel free to look it up and correct me if I'm wrong)

As an american , I really do not feel that I have the room to speak on this but I recently found out that I am seventy percent Irish and Swedish. Long before I found that out.I had a calling to the culture to the people to the land. I worship the nordic gods and try my hardest to follow the correct path. Living in america has downsides to that though. Norway , denmark and sweden , some of the most beautiful lands that I have ever seen. Although I have never been personally, I do wish to one day return to the lands of my ancestors. This song.. its absolutely beautiful.

Theres prob a chance that it’s denmark as they were the owner of the Kalmar union. Wich was pretty much the same as a united scandinavia.
@@Rpic551 It'd probably be Sweden dominating the union, with a capital set in Göteborg to more easily manage the more populated areas.
The more isolated parts of northern Sweden and northern Norway (most parts above Trøndelag and Jämtland/Ångermanland, or slightly below) would be merged to ease administration of the sparsely populated areas.
Provinces would be simplified into larger ones to ease the management of larger areas.
I {could} see a standardized Scandinavian alphabet being made to fit with the new union, but i doubt it.
All I can say with some certainty is that Sweden would probably dominate a new union economically
As for the monarchy? i doubt that any of us would like to let go of our monarchs. So it'd maybe be a tripartate monarchy or something like that. With each monarch overseeing what originally made up their kingdom and norway+sweden jointly administering the new 'Norrland' province.

Especially if we look at the Swedish Empire as an example of administrative achievements, tho it also does frankly make sense. As Sweden up to the last decades proved to be the best of the Scandinavian Countries unless we look aside some issues. And seeing Sweden being the relative economic powerhouse in Scandinavia in terms of resources, production, etc etc etc, it would be another argument for Sweden as the centre, especially if it came to be as id be hoping for, then Karlstad would most likely make up the centre for the new Union.

It would need to be handled delicately, if Danes get too powerful the Swedes will probably wanna leave, if the Swedes get too powerful the Danes will probably wanna leave. I think Norway will need to be in-between them, needing to stop their conflicts before they get too heated to the point of collapse.
To answer the question better;
Economically, it would be Norway
Militarily, it would be Sweden
In terms of tourism, it would be Denmark.

As an American, i absolutely love the Nordic countries. To be honest, i would rather live in the Nordics rather than the U.S, but atlas, i probably will never be able to move there because of my current hardships. Im so happy that at least the nordics live in peace, unlike here in M u r i c a. Why can't America be as peaceful and prosperous like the Nordic countries? Because its just isn't possible with how America is. I wish it was more peaceful, just like the nordics.

As a swede i think that whats happened int he last 30 years made us at first idealise a more globolised sweden by incorporating in the EU but now with the latest identity crisis and crisis in infrastructure, such as medical care and railways, the ideals has changed to more fit a universal Norden asa a first step. I myself dont really believes in globalisation as goal to have as acountry in the 21 century but Norden could still be a unified ours (pan scandinavian). The song is very touching, a great hymn and a very relevant emotion

As a Scandinavian American (whose family comes from a Scandinavian settlement), whose ancestry is from all three (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) I tend to favor the union as well for this reason. IF the purpose of the union would be to preserve and protect Scandinavia, it's traditional values (including civic mindedness, rule of law, etc.), it's ethnic identity, it's culture, it's territorial integrity, it's own citizen's as it's first priority, etc. I would favor it. Those values are better protected by the more people who favor and fight to protect them. If we're too fractured, those values are more easily lost. IF, on the other hand, the goal would be to be so globally inclusive, by increasing it's ethnic diversity, multiculturalism, and prioritize the interests of entities outside of Scandinavia (global interests, etc.), then I would vehemently oppose such a union. That goal would anti-Scandinavian and result in the destruction of Scandinavia. It would cease to exist.
There have been efforts over the last 100 or so years, by Scandinavian Americans, to preserve the identity, culture, etc. of Scandinavian Americans. Although there were some isolated successes (and there's still an on going minor effort), for the most part, the effort has failed. Scandinavian Americans will likely cease to exist, except in memory, within the next couple generations.
