Personally, when placed side-by-side I prefer the looks at least on the front end of the 1st facelift 18-21 model years over the new 22's. I also like that you had physical front fog lights as opposed to the integrated bad weather lights and I just wish they would let us order them with the rear fog lights in North America.
Where can I find the video where you said you'll upgrade the software of the entertainment system? 4:40 I could only find where you switch out the whole system for a new one, is that what you meant by upgrading the SOFTWARE?
Hello! Sorry, I meant that the video would be released in the near future. Basically, if you have a car with a full touchscreen, you just need a software flash to update it so I will be working through that process.
@@carcreationsyt Thanks for the quick reply. I hope to see the video uploaded soon. As I just got my new 2021 JCW yesterday and I saw that your videos feature a different entertainment system than mine. Could you at least provide me of where I can find instructions to do the "flash" update? I'm literally impatient. Also, on an unrelated note, if you know anything about how to get and install the JCW pro exhaust on a 2021 F56 mini cooper JCW, then let me know. I'm frustrated that it didn't come stock on in it. Because last time I did my research on MINI was back in 2018 where I believe JCW cars came stock with the Pro exhaust, which made perfect sense.
I have a Sept 2019 JCW, now looking at the 2022 model it doesn't make me want to run out and trade my 2019 model for the latest model because overall I think mine looks better as it came with the piano black with just the belt line and door handles in chrome, it's a silver/white with red pano top and all the toys, rather than new trim MINI should have added more horses as in the BMW 128Ti engine.
Yeah I agree. That sounds like a cool spec! I am debating doing some chrome delete... They definitely should have upped the HP! Fingers crossed for the G Series MINIs in 2023 or 2024
I just purchased a 2019 jcw with manual 6 speed transmission. I test drove the golf r and the mini exhaust was the reason I went with the mini. I love hearing the pops. It is so nice and the interior of the 2019 is super cool. Great video! Great car!
Honestly am glad I found your channel! I recently about a new JCW and watching your videos has helped me get more familiar with the car. I’m looking forward to watching the video you put out about updating the old Mini software to the new software! Thanks!

Hi, great video! I have now the 2022 JCW for 2 weeks, but I'm so disappointed because of the lack of the pops from the exhaust I had when I test drove the 2019 model 9 months ago. What can I do to the get pops back in my model? Thank you for your advises!
Congrats on the new JCW!! Yeah, that was one of the things I found. Your best bet is a burble tune or something like that pared with the JCW pro exhaust. If you just add the pro exhaust, the car will be louder, but still no pops.
Was originally hunting for a 2019-2021 JCW, but a 22 fell into my lap with my ideal spec for a great price (Manual, Iconic trim, malt brown leather seats, grey/green/or blue). I'm gonna miss the pops, but there's rumor that we'll have an easier time tuning the newer ones soon, so it may come back.
Great video, as always. You guys are becoming one of the best sources for Mini info WW (at least I keep checking all your new videos from Spain, they are getting better and better). I am looking for a 2018 LCI1 JCW. Not so many of those but I think it's a good compromise as 2019 manufactured ones already came with GPF, killing pop and bangs and being way less powerful (preGPFs are close to 300hp with just a tune a basic bolt ons). Will you update nav software in your JCW? Pros and cons? (other than looking more modern even if color scenes don't work, usability wise I mean). Congrats again!
Thanks, really appreciate it!! I agree, those are currently the best MINIs you can buy I believe. My 2019 JCW would technically be a 2018 in Europe as they do the model years differently. I do plan on an upgrade when I have a second. I believe I found the answer to the colour schemes issue. It only works on the newer cars, so fingers crossed, I will be able to get the dark theme on my JCW when I upgrade it.
I do like the the new 2021 Mini JCW and the wheels our they 205 by 17.standard. And it's not so noisy. Pops and bangs our okay but after daily driving can become annoying. Perhaps showing my age. Thanks for sharing all the best on the new generation JWC manual is there anything to look out for low mileage or try and a get in the deal.
Thanks for watching! The manuals are super reliable. Just make sure the clutch isn’t too used if it was driven by someone who doesn’t know how to drive manual.
Thank you so much!! If you are talking about the digital cluster, you would be right! I actually retrofitted it onto my 2019. I have a video on the channel outlining the process if you are interested!
Your Mini was exactly what I had until exactly a month ago except mine was grey with a red roof but had the carbon shroud over the pro exhaust and a carbon intake on the bonnet and the H & K sound system. I kept it for just short of 4 years at least twice as long as my next longest ownership as it was just brilliant and irreplaceable. That exhaust was what made the car so special. I have now gone for full electric with 400bhp & 22" rims which makes up for the pops and bangs in my humble opinion. The performance seats on my new car are about the same as the JCW but are fully electric and full leather and the 825 Watt 15 speaker system is a cut above the Mini also. Would I buy the new Mini if I had stayed with, Mini maybe as I like the styling and the cabin upgrades but its the exhaust but I am sure Milltech will come up with a replacement for the OEM exhaust. Your film was a good watch and I have liked and subscribed to get a fix of Mini in the future. Thanks.
Thank you for your comment! Yeah this mini has been the best I have ever owned. Thanks for subscribing! Hope to make it worth it in the future! Enjoy your new car!
I agree 100% on the sound of the 2019...I think the facelift exterior take a little getting used to and I’d probably argue that the pre-facelift front is still prettier but the facelift rear is ‘cooler’ or more aggressive. The transmission on the facelift is fantastic when you’re driving it hard or in manual mode
Yeah but he is comparing a 2019 jcw with an added pro exhurst to a stock one which is a 1500 -2000 pound upgrade here in the UK which to add and compare the 2 cars isn't a like to like comparison, Yeah most people would go for the one with the loud bangs and crackle as there are more fun, but come on let's a have a fair playing field fromthe start before dismissing the new one . A standard 2019 JCW with no added mods with a new facelfted one. Then I'd believe it would be a much closer call.

@@carcreationsyt Me neither. I think that it could be distracting plus I'm just used to the old school instrument cluster. A heads up display makes complete sense for a jet fighter so as not to take your eyes off of your opponent. Plus in a plane you never have another plane 20 feet in front of you unless your in formation or refueling. But in a car with other cars all around you it could be distracting. Unlike a plane there's really no instrument in a car that you must be seeing at any given time.
