Great video, plenty of detail, very helpful. Curious why you chose Base/Treble tone over EQ. Its certainly a lot easier than setting up EQ, but does it offer as good or better sound control. I have my Tone Control on bypass and spent a lot of time adjusting the EQ to get the sound I wanted. Using Tone Control seems so much easier. Thanks for the awesome video.

Hello your tutorial is indeed comprehensive and well explained.I have a recent issue with my AV Receiver Rx- V371.The TV has been playing through the receiver for several years.But recently happened to mistakenly press the stereo button on the remote and after this the TV sound no longer is heard through the receiver and 5 Bose speaker along with sub woofer.Will appreciate your assistance.Thanks
Press the surround button & select dolby pl2 & also check the audio output setting of the tv.

In My setup, Front Right/Lift/Centre speakers are working fine but Surround Speakers not detected while connecting to TV.
While connecting Radio, all speakers working with ( Surround right and left also) but only facing while connecting TV, Showing disabled in setup menu also.

Great video! I don't understand why you needed to set levels when i would think the distance setting would have taken care of that?
No, distance helps the unit determine timing. when the sound plays from each speaker to ensure it sounds like it’s coming from the same source. the levels are a separate but equally important setting.

Wow this is great. I am having slight trouble with mine, i have a Yamaha tsr 5810 receiver. My speakers are: center, 2 fronts, a sub, i have two surrounds and two atmos height speakers. Should i connect my surrounds to rear surrounds and the atmos height speakers to the surround channel? I have them all hooked up but have yet to access atmos. Also what do you recommend to do if dialogue has a slight muffle sound on the tail end of vocals? Thank you in advance!
Conmect atmos to rear surround & change the setting from the receiver. You can use 7.1 or 5.1.2 as atmos. In that case rear surround will convert to atmos. You gotta change the setting from the receiver

For this setup you need atmos receiver of atlest 5.4.2 setup. Which receiver do you have
Sir as per video if the speaker's size is large then it is set to large and small speakers but it is not correct. Sorry if I have wrong understanding by me
Selecting large speaker provides more bass to the channel speakers & subwoofer would just support for vibration feel. But if you select large speaker but use small speakers. Then you will have low bass. Because subwoofer will work at very low frequency

I notice I get better sound with Music /5 Channel select rather than any of the "Movie" selections BUT, the Audio sinking becomes then misaligned.

Subwoofer? Some setting may have changed. Check the frequency, maybe reduced to the lowest or maybe the sub level has been reduced
What's the difference between adjusting dB level on subwoofer in speaker settings versus adjusting subwoofer trim?
Subwoofer trim enhances the low frequencies by avoiding overlap with the front speaker output.

Hi, i watched all of your video. I have spent two days without success on configuring my setup. I have Yamaha RX-V3075 amp, Yamaha Subwoofer SWT800, and 5 small energy speakers. Subwoofer turns on and lights up but no sound from Sound test. Connected to Hisense 4k 65" TV... Also, having trouble with the ARC + HDMI working...
Reset the receiver. Check your connections. Select sub as yes.
I have done all this. I now have the ARC working on Receiver and TV.... Just the Subwoofer is not working. I took it to get looked at now. Hopefully not too expensive to repair@@technoboy-allinOne
For some reason my speakers dont immediately activate when my TV is turned on, the TV is connected via an arc hdmi. Do you know this problem?

I'm trying to set up my turntable into this receiver. I plugged into the CD input but the sound isn't loud and then if I turn up the receiver shuts off. Any idea? I'm struggling to play my records! Thanks in advance!

as I have checked all these speakers are large speakers. can be used as front speakers only. Receivers minimum impedance is 6 ohm. So You must use speakers with 6 ohms or more. so you can choose any pair from the list and use them as front speakers. use small speakers as surround. also you can use one of them as center speaker too.
I have a Yamaha htr 5830 and for some reason it stopped responding to my Yamaha remote (the one it came with). I’ve changed the batteries and though the remote itself lights up, still no activity when I point it to the receiver. Any tips?
Reset the receiver & try. If it still doesnt work then maybe the remote is ok but the receivers remote sensor gone bad

How do you get the setup to show up on the TV?
if you have a hdmi output on your receiver use that into the tv....and then select the source to whatever hdmi input you have connected on the tv...then press set up and you should be able to see it on the tv. cheers

I dont think the connection is correct
I connected it to my TV with HDMI cable and when i put it in HDMI (1,2,3,4) it doesnt play, it plays only in AV2 and AV3
Whats the problem?
if you wanna use it with smart tv then you need to connect it to tv's hdmi ARC port. & may need to do some setting in the tv audio

In large speaker setup most of the low frequency go to the front channels & sub deliver the lowest frequency

So, I just want to run two speakers for music off of the Yahama receiver Htr 4065. I know I have the speakers attached correctly, but cannot figure out how to get sound. Not attaching a tv or anything else. I just want the speakers to work and possibly attach iPhone for Apple Music. I am absolutely befuddled.
Need more info about the problem. Anyway Select the stereo mode & you will have front 2 channel working only alone with subwoofer unless you select the subwoofer as none from the settings

Why is 80Hz better than 160Hz? If that’s the case why would they make 160 the default?
If 160hz was best then they didnt need to provide option to select. It depends on the peoples choice. & also different to hear for music, movies etc. For movies 80hz is better or 60. You will have a vibrating heavy bass like movie theater. Whatever frequency you select thats the entry for sub. & till that its for the channels. Hope you understood.

Crossover is based on your home theatre speaker capabilities. Most speakers (including towers up into the thousand dollar range) prefer to be set as small with a crossover around 80Hz to the subwoofer. It can be room dependent but to my ear I prefer frequencies below 80Hz to be played by the subwoofer. It helps free up your speakers to play higher frequencies with more clarity too (they’re not busy playing lower frequencies). If you prefer 90Hz that’s into the psychoacoustics field and I’d say just listen to whatever you think sounds best/ provides most clarity.

I have ARC hooked to my TV and receiver. When I turn the TV on, no sound from input 4. Then I change input from 4 to 3 and. back again and then I have sound. Why?

Only pure direct is working? No bass treble maybe. It means the logic board has some kind a problem.. get it repaired or replaced.
I can't get the TV sound thru the receiver HDMI/DVI from TV to HDMI/ARC from receiver. Only radio making sound. Nothing from the tv

I have yht 196 model… no sound when played 5.1 content of netflix amazon prime etc. from sony google tv…tried hdmi cable in input and output both slots… sound comes in output slot only and that too only for non 5.1 content… if i use firestick in input and output hdmi to non smart tv.. it works fine… any srtup to be changed or it will not work with 5.1 content
What is Monaural Mix under DSP Parameter and in Modern AVR 4k is for what. It is to be set at what?
4k is video pass through for HDMI to tv or projector & audio for receiver.
what is the monitor out for?
Its for display purpose. Connect it to a tv & open the menu. You can see all detail menu on the tv. It helps you setup the receiver properly as you can see all on tv which is not possible on the receiver's small display.
