Hello wouter i love your videos and i also am trying to learn new languages. I currently speak english and do auslan (australian sign language). Sign language is different in most countries and even different states have different words (like dialects) this is something that is interesting to learn, and you can actually use body language as a way to talk to people from a different country even if you dont speak their language.
Wouter, even though I don't speak Dutch I think it makes your videos more enjoyable than when you're speaking English with other Dutch people. That's because while your english is good, when you talk with others in English over there, these people often don't have the same level of comprehension. Overall, that makes your videos a bit clanky sometimes, but it's okay. I was also wondering, for future videos in Dutch, could you add another layer of subtitles for Dutch --> English?
I discovered you few months ago but I do love your videos. I would like just to add an important thing that you must know. In Italian we don't translate "present" (in the way you meant at 2:19) as "presente", but as "regalo". So if I say "I give you a present" in Italian it's "ti do un regalo". However present can be translated as "presente" in the following example. "Nel presente non ho ambizioni" "In the present (now) I don't have any ambitions". But "presente" can also be used (just like in English) in this example " Is everyone present?" "Sono tutti presenti?"
We don't use it in everyday language but "Presente" as gift or present is still Italian (aulic or courtesy formula). At least is what the Treccani says.

croatian/serbian is almost like russian, 70-80% of words are the same or similar. If you already know some russian it would be easy for you to learn some basics

Prosječnom mladom Hrvatu ili Srbinu, ruski jezik nije ni 20% razumljiv. Osobno sam malo u prednosti jer jako dobro znam sva narječja hrvatskog, ponešto slovenskog i dosta srpskog.
Yeay I cringed a little I mean his german wasn't the best but understandable. I would really be confused if someone came to me and said "Wie machst du es?" even if I was doing something an another one would ask me what I am doing or how i was doing it you would say it differently.
