Great info. timmy , am impressed by the hard working that you have been doing since 2016 , keep the great work on and you will surely gain success in life dude 👍👍👍👍😁😁
They will be backing up photos that are on your phone. If you enable backup on an account, and there are photos on the phone that aren't on the account, it will automatically back them up. You will need to switch back to the original account, and use the free up space feature to remove all the backed up photos from your phone. Then, when you switch to the new account, there will be nothing for it to back up. th-cam.com/video/PiVPCgRWMtA/w-d-xo.html
If i switch to account 2, all the photos from my phone which were already backed up on account 1 are being backed up on account 2 as well. I just want the new ones to back up and i can't find a way to do that apart fron turning off backup and uploading the new photos manually. what should i do to get auto backup on account 2 without getting old photos being re-uploaded? The 15gb storage is almost full on account 1 could that be a reason for this?
The photos are being backed up to account 2, because they are photos on your phone that are not already on account 2. The easiest way to resolve this is to switch the backup account back to account 1, then use Google's free up space feature to remove the photos from your phone: th-cam.com/video/PiVPCgRWMtA/w-d-xo.html Then, you can switch back to account 2, and there will be nothing on your phone to back up, so only new photos from then on will be uploaded to account 2.
Unfortunately you can't really do that, there is a long and complicated process you could follow to re-download all the photos to your phone so that they would reappear in the gallery app. But once you do that, your new Google Photos account would back up all of those photos because they're on your phone again, and then you would have duplicates on Google Photos. And I'm guessing that's what you used the free up space feature to avoid. I never touch the built in gallery app on my phone, I just use the Google Photos app whenever I want to look at photos, that way you can always see all your photos, whether they're on your phone or not.
That helped a lot... Thanks But m still facing an issue like after doing all that u mentioned, the photos that are uploaded starts from the very start. Like I have total 16000 photos/videos, when the storage of account 1 is full there is still 1800 photos/videos that are left to upload & when switching to account 2 it starts backing up from the initial 16000 photos/videos instead of the remaining 1800. So what should I do?
Sorry for the delayed reply, I've been traveling. That's a bit of a difficult situation, the only option would be to use the "free up space" feature to delete the backed up photos from the phone. I have a video about the free up space feature here: th-cam.com/video/PiVPCgRWMtA/w-d-xo.html You would switch back the the first account and then use this feature. And then all the photos that are already on that account will be removed from your phone, so when you switch to the new account, it will only back up the photos that are still on your phone, which will be the ones that weren't backed up to the other account.
I have 2 accounts. Account one has all my pics, nearly at limit. I mistakenly backed up pics to 2nd account which includes pre June 2021 so is now full. Is there a way of undoing that but still on device & account 1? If account 1 is backed up, can I go to account 2 photos on Web browser, and delete them from there and they will still be viewable on account 1 and on device? Thanks
All the photos on account 1 will be safe, but keeping the photos on your phone will be difficult. Even if you delete them from the website on account 2, I'm pretty sure it will automatically sync it and remove the photos from your phone. The only way to keep them on your phone without being backed up to account 2 would be to move the existing photos into a separate folder on your phone, then go into the backup settings in Google Photos and make sure backing up for that folder is disabled. Then, you can delete the photos from account 2, and they will still be in the separate folder on your phone, and in your Google Photos library on account 1, but they will not be on account 2. But that's quite a lot of effort, so personally, I would just let them be deleted from your phone, because you would still be able to access them in account 1.
I have used the free up space on this device after backup but after doing that all my photos from the original photos app of the mobile is removed but the photos are still there in the Google photos app But I want the photos to be in both the Google photos app and the orginal photos app what should I do ?

Can the photo album on the mobile phone be uploaded to GOOGLE PHOTO? Because I found that I can only upload photos but not photo albums, which is very strange! (Using ANDROID 14 or above)🥴🥴🥴
No, it only backs up photos individually, it doesn't include any albums, you can create albums on Google photos, but you have to do it separately on Google photos after they are uploaded.
You can specify folders on your phone that you don't want backed up, but usually it will pretty much backup everything. If you want to pick specific photos to upload, the better option would be to turn backup off entirely, then you could manually upload any photos you want to upload, by selecting the ones you want, and then tapping "back up" in the menu that appears across the bottom of the screen.
Hi timmy, i would like to ask a question. So i changed my backup account from a previous account to a new one. Why does when i delete backup photos in the old account using good photos , it deletes them from my galery?
I'd say that must be because even if the photos were not backed up to account 1, they would still show up in account 1 in the app on your phone. Perhaps you could try deleting them from the Google Photos website instead, or the app on a different device. Then, as long as backup has been switched to account 2, they shouldn't be deleted from the phone.
After backing up the photos to new account...can i delete all the photos from previous account to free up the space...is it ok if i do this or should i leave it as it is....help 🙏🙏
Yes, you can delete the photos from the previous account. But you might want to be careful, if you have any photos on the old account that are not still on your phone, they will not be on the new account either.
I have backed up to the account I wanted to and deleted it from the previous account, but I can't see the account taking the space of the photos that are now saved to it currently even after I deleted from Previous account? Then? Why it's not taking space?
Also, all the photos transferred from one account to another are not on my phone, so I wanna empty the previous account but can't see another account taking space
When you change your backup account, all the photos that are already on Google Photos will still be on the original account, this just changes it for the future. So no, just doing this won't actually free up any space on your original account, it will just prevent it from filling up even more. If you want to free up space on the original account, you need to transfer the existing photos across, as shown in this video: th-cam.com/video/NG59stzbxDU/w-d-xo.html
There is, but it's not overly easy to do, you would have to go into the files app on your phone, create a folder called "old photos" or something like that, and transfer all your existing photos into that folder, then when you change the backup account, you would need to make sure that folder does not have backups enabled. This way, any new photos you take will go into the default folder, which will be backed up to the new account, but the existing photos will be in a separate folder that doesn't back up to the new account. But it's quite a lot of effort for little to no benefit, so I would just free up space and be done with it.
Another question if I deleted some pics from account 1 then it is going to be deleted in account 2 and my phone as well? Or is there any way to avoid that?
To delete pictures from account 1, I would recommend deleting them from the Google Photos website. That way, because backup and sync is no longer enabled for account 1, they will only be removed from that account, and not anywhere else.
If i switch to account 2 .. Then the backed up photos and videos in account 1 will remain as it is or will get removed automatically if i switch to account 2???
@@techtimewithtimmy one more thing.. How to see which photos are remaining to be backed up in account 1 as account 1 is full so i have to switch to account 2 plss reply!
You would need to follow the steps in this video to free up space on your phone: th-cam.com/video/PiVPCgRWMtA/w-d-xo.html Then, there will be no photos on your phone, so when you change the backup account, there will be nothing to back up.
I'm sorry you feel that way, but a lot of people find it easier to keep up with a slower pace, and some people need to hear the basic information that you might already know, you can't please everyone. If you want to save a bit of time, you can always use the timestamps in the description to try and skip some of the parts you don't want to watch.
Some people might prefer it like that. But I prefer to explain what's going on, so that people actually understand what they are doing rather than blindly tapping a series of buttons. That way, if something is slightly different on their phone, or if they have a different situation and they want to do it a bit differently, they will be able to figure it out.
