This is the type of content i wanted.... Because i always used my phone's local gallery app and i am new to Google photos, so this is a great tutorial............
Not only does Google get location from meta data, but Google also does image recognition. I scanned film negatives of europe from 1995 so no meta data, yet Google sent me requests to review the locations in my scans. The great part was I couldn't remember many of the location names, but Google named them all for me.
I’ve used Google Photos as a back up to my iOS photos library in my iCloud for a few years now but I’ve never used any of the other features of it other than displaying photos on my Google Home display. It works seamlessly!
Great video! I use google photos every day! All of my memories are there. It's just amazing app.. I think the one and only missing part of google photos is the control of video quality when you watching a video. Can't control the video resolution and this is the problem. I think this is only one missing part of this app.
I just want PICASA back. I have the last version and still love it. Simple, fairly well rounded and fast. I'll never understand Google walking away from PICASA and it, of course, used to integrate with PHOTO.
I still use Picasa as well to manage my photos because the "I'm Feeling Lucky" correction is far superior to the "Auto Fix" in Google Photos. But I absolutely love Google Photos capabilities for search. When I was able to manage my files in Picasa using a folder system and then have them in Google Photos, that was the perfect blend.
@@ThomasMarullo Are you saying the combo of picasa and Google Photos is no longer possible? I always assumed the search capabilities was from them doing image recognition on your photos, correct?
exactly Picasa is the best - fast and easy desktop app for photo viewing as well as editing... integration with google photo would have been dope but instead they decided to stop developing it 😬
I found an issue that bugs me... When you download files from google photos or google drive, the exif data is edited. The DATE CREATED becomes the date you downloaded the file. Is there a workaround for this?

A product like Google Photos, falls under Google Terms of Service. That means that when you upload your photos you are giving the tech giant license to “host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works, communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute” those photos.

Google photos has literally infinite storage, it really blows my mind, all that for free! That means I could backup a lifetime of photos and videos that i can look back and reminisce before i permanently sleep from old age.
@@nikkie5469 the only way you could do this is download photos to your computer, then drag those to a plugged in sd card. Then those photos are saved to the sd card and you can pop that card into your camera. But usually there is no need to do this.

It works for me now, all you have to do is to back up your photos and videos in the photos settings, you must wait until they are all backed up, if u don’t then they will be deleted, so make sure to wait until the photos or videos have been backed up, it tells you how much it backed up and how much is left.
First, let the photos backup on google photo finish, and then you can delete the desired photo on the device. I'm sure this will solve your problem, I had the same problem.
Same here it is annoying af. Specially when you have nudes and want them saved but not on your phone. Even when I back them up they still delete from google photos. They can only be ACHIEVED. Wtf anyone can just click and look at achieves
@@davidhardcore704 Use the Google photos ARCHIVE function, your photo will remain on your phone but not visible in the gallery. When you want to access, access your files and it will be there.
Alan Silva that’s what I did, but even when they’re achieved anyone can just click the ACHIEVE button and look through all your photos. There is no password protection at all or finger slide verification. I just don’t get it.
what google photo needs is a way to share "view only" albums. the person you shared to wont be able to easily download or share the same photos to another person

I deleted google photos from my phone and it deleted all my photo’s too. :). I still have them luckily when I sign in but all the photo’s are in a mess and not loaded in order.

I understand that this is only the main features of Google Photos but since you mentioned archive, it can be useful to add that you can also add tags in the “add description” section so that if you want to pull up your archived photo sometime, it’ll be easy to find it. If necessary.

You can share your photos with a Partner Account and then select to save them to their account. Alternatively if you have the original files you could install the Google Backup & Sync agent on your Windows PC, sign in with your new account and point it to the folders with your photos in, it'll then upload them to that account. If you wanted to you could then delete from the original account, as in your question you do say you want to "move" them.

Hi! Google Photos seemed almost perfect so I downloaded it as I'm extremely paranoid about using iCloud seeing as I've lost photos from them before. However, I realised one catch. Deleting a photo on Google Photos also deletes it from the device it's synced to? Is there any way I can stop this, as some photos I'm not determined to have backed up but need on my primary device occasionally. If there is no way to stop this, I would have to delete the app - would deleting/uninstalling the app delete photos on my iPhone as it's synced? Thank you!
Think it as google photos and the photos stored in your phone seperate. What I mean is, any device that you use to log into Google photos will be able to see what photos are on GF without it being saved onto that device. So if you delete a photo off GF, then no device will be able to see it. And then of course deleting a photo off your phone won't have anything to do with Google photos. If that's what you mean. Unlike Icloud however, if you delete a photo on a device, be it iPad or iPhone, it's going to delete it on iCloud too. Google is a seperate thing all together.

I just noticed that when I take a pictures, there not being backed up in my Google Gallery. I've looked in my settings and I still have space available to take pictures. My back up and sync was already turned on. I restarted my phone and turned off and on the back up and sync but I'm still having the same problem....can I please get some HELP!
You can download any image you want to your phone to use as a wallpaper. In general on both Android and iOS you'll need to have the wallpaper image on the device.
High quality unless you want to eat into your Google account storage quota and absolutely need the original quality. However, from 1st June next year that will happen anyway (as Google announced this week). If you have a Pixel phone I may change my answer slightly to say use original quality for now (as they have a special promo to allow that not to eat up space in your Google account....again it'll all change from 1st June next year).

Name and the hash codes in the file, however, we don't believe they check the pic themselves to see if they look similar.

No it doesnt. You get 15g and you have to pay for the rest no where near unlimited space
