it's not really a mistake, they just showed him. They didn't know each other, her father left her mom and her when she was a baby before her mom killed herself, and they haven't seen each other since. Her father started a new family. Pheobe's brother is just there, but they don't know each other since they've never met. Then, when they actually meet as family, they don't remember each other since when they first ever met, it wasn't a memorable moment. To sum up, it wasn't a mistake, they just showed him there.

Phoebe might know French but was trying to flirt with Tim, cos I can think of several examples where she speaks French. The door thing could be explained by the door usually being on a latch, and that latch clicking shut. This has actually happened to me! Chandlers crying can be explained by the fact he’s quite in touch with his feminine side so he’s portrayed as trying to seem emotionally stunted, when he really isn’t. Ben can be explained by the fact that he might go to see him, and they have blown all the budget on their salaries! Rachel’s surname can be explained by people getting spellings wrong. It’s pretty common in real life. But as for the rest of the video, yeah, there are a few mistakes. But hey, they’re only human. Even the scriptwriters.
And you can be fluent on another language, but that doesn't mean you will know all the words there is. She probably never heard of that specific word, and that's ok, nothing to do with her knowing or not the language.
Yeah idk why people are making such a big deal about it. They don't show the kid, so what? That’s not uncommon with pilots. Sometimes they decide to make changes when the show gets picked up. In the pilot of Everybody Loves Raymond, the twins were different kids with different names, and the set for their house was totally different.

When a show goes on for ten years you can’t expect everything to be perfect. Obviously the writers didn’t know the show was going to be such a big hit in the pilot so they would have said some things that wouldn’t make sense later.

When Monica gets married in season 7 her parents walk her down the aisle and her mother says she wishes Monica’s grandmother could be there. Monica points and says “she’s right there,” but Judy says she was talking about her own mother. This must mean that Monica and Ross’s grandmother who died in season 1 was Judy’s mother. But in season 10 when they are making the video for Emma’s 18th birthday, Judy tells Emma that her own parents died very young. But if Judy’s mother died when her own grandchildren were in their twenties, she didn’t die young.
It's also confusing because Ross's apartment seems to be in the lower level of floor than Monica's apartment, and yet Monica could see that there was a dog in her own living room when she went to Ross's apartment to use his fridge or something in the episode when Chandler didn't like dogs. It doesn't make any sense
What I always found confusing about Ross' appartment is that his kitchen could never be there in real life. When you see the corridor the wall is at the same level as his frontdoor. But inside the appartment the kitchen is next to his frontdoor. I guess the kitchen is in a parallel universe or something. 🤣

Here's one. In the earlier seasons Chandler and Joey would often go see sports games. In season 8 Chandler suddenly doesn't like sports anymore and pretends to watch the TV to avoid Monica.

Phoebe's twin sister, Ursala, was created because Lisa Kudrow was playing on another sitcom at the time (I think it was Mad About You - never watched it so don't quote me). Lisa Kudrow does not always play her twin/double. She didn't like the idea and Helene Kudrow is the "Ursala" that looks slightly different (shorter in particular) although they are not twins in real life.

It's not hard to understand why Barry's name changed. Things like that often change from the pilot episode. On Seinfeld, Kramer was originally named "Kessler" and Jerry even calls him that during the pilot. Now, the one about Ben and Emma never meeting each other, that was pretty mind-blowing!

I was thinking his reasons for not liking it has nothing to do with the taste. He could still enjoy the flavor and want some at times despite it hurting his teeth a bit.
One of the biggest plot holes (which I never really see anyone mention) is on the outside shots of the apartment, you can never see the famous balcony they have. You could just say it may just be on the other side of the building, but in the episode where Rachel throws all of Palos clothes from the balcony because he cheats, the clothes fall down the same side of the outside shot of the building, however it still isn’t visible.
When Ross said in season 1 that he’s only slept with one women in his whole life and that was carol but then a few seasons later chandler revealed that back in college Ross slept with the lady who cleans the dorms?

A HUGE one you missed was Monica's wedding dress changed. She tried on a dress in the pricey boutique, then fought over what she called "her dress" in the bargain sale scene which was a completely different dress, then later tried her dress on at home and it was the dress she had tried on in the boutique first.

The one with Monica and Rachel "being replaced" is easily explained. Back then, the format was technically filmed in widescreen, but edited and broadcasted in 4:3 because that was the TV standard at the time (even the first DVD release was still in 4:3 if I remember correctly). Hence producers often used "unofficial" takes when they fitted better. Many times, when only one actor should redo a line, it was filmed opposite a random person just to get that one shot. Didn't matter because the counterpart was "lost" in the editing room. Only when this show get reworked to HD, they restored the widescreen footage from the original film and hence some of this slipped in. If many other 80s/90s show were big enough to be restored to HD like Friends, you'd find just this in many of them.
I just checked on my 4:3 DVD, and the random persons are indeed almost entirely outside the frame. We can barely see a bit of a noze, and the edge of a shirt.

That’s not uncommon with pilots. Sometimes they decide to make changes when the show gets picked up. In the pilot of Everybody Loves Raymond, the twins were different kids with different names, and the set for their house was totally different.

When a show goes on for ten years you can’t expect everything to be perfect. Obviously the writers didn’t know the show was going to be such a big hit in the pilot so they would have said some things that wouldn’t make sense later.
In the first season, Rachel was introduced to Chandler for the first time. In later seasons, we see flashbacks of Rachel with Chandler during their college days.
pheobe wouldn’t originally be in two places at once because it was filmed for a square sized tv but then changed when most people had a normal tv

When Monica gets married in season 7 her parents walk her down the aisle and her mother says she wishes Monica’s grandmother could be there. Monica points and says “she’s right there,” but Judy says she was talking about her own mother. This must mean that Monica and Ross’s grandmother who died in season 1 was Judy’s mother. But in season 10 when they are making the video for Emma’s 18th birthday, Judy tells Emma that her own parents died very young. But if Judy’s mother died when her own grandchildren were in their twenties, she didn’t die young.

What I always found confusing about Ross' appartment is that his kitchen could never be there in real life. When you see the corridor the wall is at the same level as his frontdoor. But inside the appartment the kitchen is next to his frontdoor. I guess the kitchen is in a parallel universe or something. 🤣

Lisa Kudrow does not always play her twin/double. She didn't like the idea and Helene Kudrow is the "Ursala" that looks slightly different (shorter in particular) although they are not twins in real life.

Just bc she found her brother doesn't they have a close relationship. We see in the series that in the group there were specific "couples" that got along better than others like Ross got along with Rachel, Monica with Chandler that led to Mondler, and obviously Joey and Phoebe. They were always there for each other whether when David left to Russia, or when they thought Phoebe was the pregnant one. Phoebe and Joey were very close.

It's not hard to understand why Barry's name changed. Things like that often change from the pilot episode. On Seinfeld, Kramer was originally named "Kessler" and Jerry even calls him that during the pilot.

For Rachel's name - it seems in the context of the show it is 'Greene' - it's very common when you order anything at the store or over the phone and tell them your name, that it is misspelled by the staff there. Honestly her name being 'Green' on the cake box feels more legit than an continuity issue lol.

One of the biggest plot holes (which I never really see anyone mention) is on the outside shots of the apartment, you can never see the famous balcony they have. You could just say it may just be on the other side of the building, but in the episode where Rachel throws all of Palos clothes from the balcony because he cheats, the clothes fall down the same side of the outside shot of the building, however it still isn’t visible.

A HUGE one you missed was Monica's wedding dress changed. She tried on a dress in the pricey boutique, then fought over what she called "her dress" in the bargain sale scene which was a completely different dress, then later tried her dress on at home and it was the dress she had tried on in the boutique first.
Emily’s wedding dress changed too. Monica picked it up (and wore it), but then the dress Emily wears to the wedding is totally different.

If I remember correctly, that was in Rachel’s daydream when she was driving her old friends home. I recall one of them saying, “Rach, you missed the exit! What were you thinking about?” To which Rachel replied “Barry.” She was actually thinking about having a one night stand with no strings attached. But that’s if you are referring to the whole one night stand thing. But Chandler overheard her saying she wanted a one night stand and ‘accidentally’ dropped a pool ball. That chance of Rachel remembering her short conversation with Chandler has the same chance as her remembering where Monica keeps the dust pan!😂

ben is way older than the rest of them so i feel like that would be awkward to try and make that work, but maybe he could be a recurring character since he’s emma’s half brother. also, maybe even joey could be married and have a kid or kids and phoebe and mike might have kids and “be like the von trapp family” as she said in the finale and they could be characters too
has no one noticed that Phoebe can speak fluent Italian to Joey's Grandmother in the episode where Joey is supposed appear on tv in law and order, but when Palo is dating Rachel in Season 1, there is no mention of Phoebe ability to apparently understand everything that Palo is saying(even thought she should)

The one with Monica and Rachel "being replaced" is easily explained. Back then, the format was technically filmed in widescreen, but edited and broadcasted in 4:3 because that was the TV standard at the time (even the first DVD release was still in 4:3 if I remember correctly). Hence producers often used "unofficial" takes when they fitted better. Many times, when only one actor should redo a line, it was filmed opposite a random person just to get that one shot. Didn't matter because the counterpart was "lost" in the editing room. Only when this show get reworked to HD, they restored the widescreen footage from the original film and hence some of this slipped in. If many other 80s/90s show were big enough to be restored to HD like Friends, you'd find just this in many of them.

I just checked on my 4:3 DVD, and the random persons are indeed almost entirely outside the frame. We can barely see a bit of a noze, and the edge of a shirt.

Omg I thought this too. And also it was really inconsistent because they never mentioned when everyone went to London that it was great that Phoebe was pregnant because she couldn’t fly anyways. And also in the last episodes when her and Ross bought airline tickets to catch up with Rachel. You need a passport to do that.
I've always had the impression that Phoebe says a lot of things that may not be true...
