It was unscripted but during rehearsal for a completely unconnected scene from a different episode he stuffed up so we wrote the joke into the script for that big moment that everything that followed was scripted for. And we all know that Ross sucks because he’s too whiny, yet we tolerate him because, he’s Ross. And we all know that Rachel is too dramatic and spoiled, but we love her somehow. We all know that Joey is such a sweetheart even if he’s a hardcore womanizer, he’s an angel. We all know that Monica is over the top and a train wreck but she is incredible and fierce. And we all know that Phoebe is, beyond explanation, she is quirky, hardcore from street life, but a sweet soul. We all know that we’ve seen friends 1000 times and we all know that we will go and watch it 1000 times more after this.

A lot of scenes were rewritten, some times if the audience didn´t laugh at a certain line or joke. That was one of those things that made of Friends a great show.

According to the reunion, they didn't finish recording 'The one when nobody's ready' until after Matts shoulder healed. And Amy kept calling Emma Ella.
That was one of the reasons why Perry was chosen. They couldn't find anyone who could make the humor in that character's lines funny. The producers saw Perry's audition tape and knew they found Chandler Bing. He had the delivery and ability to bring the material to life. So...they basically allowed Perry to improve his lines when needed. Such as in the case of "Two Bottles of Vodka Walking Around in Human Form" after Ross and Rachel stumbled out completely drunk.
I like when Paolo comes out of Rachel's bedroom and Ross says "Hey Paolo, what are you doing here?" and in his broken English he responds with "uh...I do Raquel." XD
