    So that's what a tire rotation looks like. Thanks! I literally thought the car is lifted mid air and you press the gas and the tires rotate. You saved me some money of not getting a tire rotation every oil change or every 2. I might do it every 3 or 4. Now let's say it was my dream car which is a corvette, then I would rotate them every oil change.

      +gamegeekx ya i wouldn't really do every oil change.. i do every other oil change i guess. but if you really want them to be perfect.. you would do it every oil change. pain in the ass tho.

    It's nice that you don't have to change to winters. I dread October just for that reason.
    By the way, I wouldn't call it being OCD I would call it being SAFE!

      d tasca as much of a pain as it is to run a dedicated winter tire setup, once they're switched over it's so much fun to drive in the snow, not to mention trolling all of the idiots that keep their 3-season tires on.

    Next Level Apparel 40/60 50/50 cotton polyester blend t shirts fit nicely. I would buy those from you in a heartbeat.

    UPDATE: Today I found $20 in my support wallet thanks to some unknown watcher. A few people have inquired about it, so I have no way of knowing who it was. If you are watching, thank you very much, that paid for half my tank of gas today.

    did this today and overall satisfied. the only thing I don't like about this is the jack stand lowers to close to the edge. I wish there was a proper way to lift the front and then the back so that the jack stands can sit nice a center on the lifts.

    Tires are suppose to be slightly off the ground or snug before you tighten the lug nuts to specs. This way, all the weight of the car doesn't sit on the tire so you can have an even torque on the lugs all around.

    I too have a WRX. Why didn't you jack from front cross member jack plate to place 2 front jacks. Then jack the rear differential to erect the final 2 rear jack stands. This will prevent the stiff rear sway bar from tightening up as you are experiencing.

  • @Gregg0112

    Keeping your tires rotated will keep the front tires from getting round on the edges. Great video.

      Gregg0112 ya i did notice a tiny bit of edge wear on the fronts actually. barely noticable, but there.

    To be honest, even though I've asked for your advice on another video regarding this type of all four wheels in the air jacking, I don't believe this method is correct. I am certain there are jacking points in the front and rear for the car for your to safely lift the entire front or entire rear of the car for you to put jack stands under without worrying about jack stands slipping off the edge of the lift points or damaging suspension components. I found these points in my owners manual and when I crawl under my Acura, there's even an arrow. Maybe you might want to look through your manual and see if Subarus have this. And if anyone else knows, please feel free to correct me or confirm my beliefs. Thank you.

      i hope there is an easier way to jack it up. i might do this again this weekend

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i will review my manual also. if i am supposed to lift by the rear diff, the problem is my jack doesn't reach far enough for me to pump the handle.

    • @helllokitty138
      @helllokitty138 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +LastHumansGarage if the jack can't fit, like for my Acura csx, I built a wooden ramp and drove it onto that before I jack it up.

      helllokitty138 i jack the rear by the rear diff. the fronts too low

    Sorry to hear about your job. Keep your head up; you're a smart guy. You'll find something. Having only two jack stands, do you know if it's ok to do this? So, I'll have both jack stands diagonal, one on driver's side and other on rear passenger's side.

      Chris Skyba no, i would never say that was safe.

  • @ALT3REDB3AST

    Haha. The confusion he speaks of was me. I ended up using the cross method from the manual cause it was the only one that made sense and would offer the most logical even pattern wear. Still kind of odd how the tread pattern is reversed though from each side of the car. Also, I don't like stands for this car as they are too high and the chassis O's under extreme stress. I use 3 crank jacks and wheel stops. With the crank jacks you can raise the car just enough without the massive height/strain on the car. Is there a center point where the entire front and/or rear can be jacked up instead of side to side?

    how do you keep your rims and tires so clean??

  • @ChristianWowk
    @ChristianWowk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    With the jack/jack stands do you need an adapter for the pinch welds? I was doing research to see if i needed to buy one but it looks like you did it without it

    LastHumansGarage Thank you for sharing. In one of your recent videos, maybe a month ago, you had purchased a Pittsburgh racing jack at Harbor Freight. Any reason why you didn't use this one to rotate your tires? I am just asking because I also have this Pittsburgh jack and am hoping that it wasn't because it was too wide to fit the jack stand next to it or something. Thank you!

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Paul Naylor i sold it a couple weeks ago. and yes that was one of the reasons. but a bigger reason was how hard it was to pump up, because rapid action. I have bad shoulders.

      LastHumansGarage hmm will be interesting I also have the Pittsburgh jackstand and a couple of aluminum Pittsburgh 3 ton stands, hopefully it will not be a huge pain getting the stand postioned beside the lift jack

    I would not feel comfortable changing the tires left to right side as this reverses the rotation direction. The metal structure inside the rubber has a certain memory effect created by the rotation direction of the wheel. Reversing this direction is not recommended, especially when driving serious speeds. The reason why Subaru recommends this left-right swap is beyond me! German car manufacturers like VW do not allow this method...

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      GTI_CHHA umm the 2013 GTI uses the same method as the WRX. crosses sides.

    LastHumansGarage I hate to hear of your job loss I know that is hard. As someone else has said don't feel bad about filing for unemployment you have paid into it I am sure and you deserve it.
    I do have a question. I am getting ready to have a daughter she will be here any time. And I have seen that you have bought protection for your back seats for your children. I have cloth interior what is the best thing I can get to put under the car seat and on the backs of the seats to help protect from mishaps? Thank you.

    • @LastHumansGarage
      @LastHumansGarage  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have videos on all that somewhere. at least on the seat back protectors. theyre not super high quality but they are cheap and work fine. www.amazon.com/Kick-Mats-Freddie-Sebbie-Accessories/dp/B00CASDZKC

      The protectors UNDER the child seats are an older version of this from ToysrUs: www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11525666

      Though when you crank that seat down properly they don't help much, you still will have creases in your seat probably forever, if they are in there for 1-2 years non-stop.

    • @lillyphotography2764
      @lillyphotography2764 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      LastHumansGarage that is what I was afraid of I can Deal with creases i suppose. That rear seat should be cheap to replace down the road if I have to. Thank you so much though.
