How did u manage to get to the top bolts of the trans and starter? Just long extensions? Respect for doing it on Jack stands...

Loosen the transmission brace and let it hang down, after that put a socket on the bolt and then aim extensions worth of 1.5-2 feet and put it on the socket. Keep pressure when you put it on because it’s very easy to strip those bolts. Hope this helps! Lmk if you need anymore help

You can, but it’s easier to just remove it. You also don’t want to put stress in weird places
