I had to rewind the video because I couldn’t believe what I was seen. The idea that these hard working children didn’t get presents from their parents on Christmas is beyond belief. You only have a very short period to be a child. These kids are not your WORKERS these are YOUR children!
Rebekah buys all kinds of things online for herself, but can’t get gifts for Christmas for these children. Obviously she doesn’t get stressed out when buying for herself!

You must be operating under the assumption that magic and memories require presents. They do not. Just because somebody made up the idea of gifts on December 25th doesn't mean we must participate. We homesteaders opt out of many mainstream practices so this shouldn't be surprising

really donna? can't you donnas see the creativity these children have devloped? the happiness and the pride that they experienced dreaming up, making, and presenting these gifts? these guys and gal are a delight to witness in this world of the lost generation!

of course donna will never see this, not that particular donna. however, maybe other donnas will, and just maybe they will rewatch these videos and look for the twinkle in the eyes of both young and old, and the closeness of this family, and compare this to their own family, why do you think a gift must come from a store? use your heart, and your eyes and watch again.

For a child, the excitement and joy of opening a present on Christmas morning is a great memory. Too bad mom didn’t feel like it.

Merry Christmas Rhoads Family! I love getting homemade gifts. This year I made hot packs for my daughter and daughter in law and the kids helped me put together some foot soaking peppermint salts and homemade body butter. We added some wine, fluffy socks and a blanket to a pretty box and gave it to them. It was awesome

Maybe I'm missing something, but I think this is the Christmas season, and your kids asked for presents but they couldn't have them because Bekah said, "that stresses her out". Instead sweet Lilly made a pillow and didn't have enough stuffing, the rubber band gun had no ammo, Jonah's adorable doll bed had no doll, but instead the "Beautiful One" got presents from the store. My heart ached for those children as they watched mom get favored with presents over them.
Being a parent is a stressful job, it comes with the territory. Young children get excited to receive gifts on Christmas. I always enjoyed buying gifts for my son and watching his little face opening packages.

Right?! I feel so bad for them. They are great hardworking kids! My children are grown but still talk about Christmas memories from when they were little . You could see the disappointment on their face even though they didn’t say anything.
