To those who are complaining about sponsored videos, let me explain to you why you shouldn't complain. Making videos for a living isn't as easy as it may seem, especially Ingrid's. TH-cam is her career and business, so it's smart for her to treat it as such. She has someone to film her videos, that's why her videos are shot beautifully and there's no shakiness or issues with lighting. That camera person most likely gets paid to do their job. She also has the responsibility to invest in camera, light, sound, and editing equipment. If you know anything about camera gear, then you'll know that professional lenses with small f-stops can run up $700+. The other equipment is also very pricey, especially if you want professional looking videos. I also believe that she's been recording videos in a separate office space, if that's the case she needs to pay for rent (on top of her own apartment's rent). If it wasn't for sponsored videos, she wouldn't get the opportunity to constantly put that money back into her channel. It may seem annoying to some of you but Google AdSense takes 40% of the ad revenue and she most likely also has to pay for an talent agent to handle her contracts and a lawyer. All these things definitely do add up.
You totally opener up my eyes about the adsense thing. thats actually pretty annoying. and ikr, i dont even know. i friggin loved the video so so much. dont know how does hair products make a difference to the liking a video. gosh
I do completely agree with what you are saying, but I do think the ads are a little misplaced in this video. Like, "this is where I like to go at night and btw I use this and this product to blah blah blah". I wouldn't mind it if this was a hair styles video or anything, it just seems out of place here.

Also I've lived in Echo Park for three years and have never heard or been to Winsome, so it must be brand new and not somewhere you go for breakfast "all the time" lolol.
Winsome opened in late 2015, so it's entirely possible that she's been going there a lot recently! totally understand where you're coming from with the ad thing though, I wish she'd do less sponsored content too :(

I don't know if I really agree. Being sponsored probably gives her more opportunities to do videos like this, and it's how she makes a living. If she wasn't getting paid for TH-cam like she is, we wouldn't see her as much as we do because she wouldn't be able to bring us such regular content. And I enjoyed the video even with the sponsorship! We can't forget that while our favorite TH-camrs genuinely love making videos for us, it's also their job.
I'm seeing a lot of anger and hate in the comments simply because Schwarzkopf sponsored this video... so because she used 3 products in her video it's suddenly crap? um, this is still the great content we've always gotten from Ingrid. She's just making more money and tbh she deserves it. Good job Ingrid
Why is everyone saying she's changed but not in a good way? I think she has changed in a GREAT way. She's more authentic and does everything with purpose now. Just because she has a couple of sponsored videos, so what? If she didn't believe in the brand/product, she wouldn't bother doing a sponsored video for them. She's still on a journey but I am so proud of her. This is who she is. If you don't like it, unsubscribe. :)

Also, for those of you complaining that she doesn't talk about her life anymore, she doesn't owe us her life story. There are things she's going to want to keep to herself and that's okay. You could be mad at her for earning a living--TH-cam isn't a hobby for her. and also, she could have made a boring promo video for those products, but instead she made a video talking about things. I love Ingrid and I have no problem with sponsorships or ads. However, I think that Ingrid has lost the personal connection she previously had with her audience. Ever since she's come out (and not hating on that, I'm gay too), I feel like she's stopped sharing anything substantial with her audience. Like once she shared her sexuality, she just didn't share anything else. None of her subscribers know what's going on in her life, when it comes to her girlfriend or to how she is on a regular basis. And although some may argue that she wants to have a little privacy on these matters, I feel as though these are essential topics of discussion, ESPECIALLY after she came out. Honestly, I feel very distant from Ingrid and regardless of how beautifully shot and edited her videos are, i just don't feel the same watching them as I did before :/

She addressed this in her video on why she won't be doing vlogmas anymore. She said she previously had shared a lot about her private life but did not want to do so anymore. Her goals and content have changed to something she feels more comfortable with. This happened around the same time as when she came out.

but what if she made a video just talking about her favorite places? would that be okay and "more genuine"? You could be mad at her for earning a living--TH-cam isn't a hobby for her. and also, she could have made a boring promo video for those products, but instead she made a video talking about things. Like, at least she tried and put in effort.

I love Ingrid and I have no problem with sponsorships or ads. However, I think that Ingrid has lost the personal connection she previously had with her audience. Ever since she's come out (and not hating on that, I'm gay too), I feel like she's stopped sharing anything substantial with her audience. Like once she shared her sexuality, she just didn't share anything else. None of her subscribers know what's going on in her life, when it comes to her girlfriend or to how she is on a regular basis. And although some may argue that she wants to have a little privacy on these matters, I feel as though these are essential topics of discussion, ESPECIALLY after she came out. Honestly, I feel very distant from Ingrid and regardless of how beautifully shot and edited her videos are, i just don't feel the same watching them as I did before :/

I won't say that I agree or not, I just feel like this was a great message and that there should be more of this kind of comments under any videos she makes if that's how you guys feel. She addressed this in her video on why she won't be doing vlogmas anymore. She said she previously had shared a lot about her private life but did not want to do so anymore. Her goals and content have changed to something she feels more comfortable with. This happened around the same time as when she came out.

Yes it's sponsored video, but she could have went about it in a lazy here's the product way. This is actually a very good video and I don't see what is not to like about it honestly :) I really don't mind her sponsored videos at all since they are always very well put together if that makes sense!

All black for night (cute black top/black pants or jeans/black heels/black leather jacket) with Ingrid's trendy hairstyle and a bold lip. Boom, you'll fit right in.
