My parents were taking their grandson to the UK for a week, and they were interrogated by the Heathrow security. They didn't have enough proof that they had permission to bring a minor into the country. But it didn't traumatize them or anything. It took two hours to clear everything up, but it was more annoying than frightening.
1.) Notice if the kid looks like the parent. 2.) Notice if the kid has bruises, is acting in a manner that suggests that they are being taken advantage of, etc. 3.) If a hotel manager approaches the parent, they should do do away from the presence of the kid. They should only ask what they can legally ask. There are numbers to call if pedophilia, kidnapping, etc. is suspected. I don’t know how it works in the UK, but in the USA, the police quickly get involved when stuff like this is suspected of occurring…

The thing is most people traffickers wouldn’t use a hotel especially one as well know as a TravelLodge. I can understand the manager in way but yeah he was very heavy handed.

This is in the UK, we don't have ID cards or anything here. The closest thing we have is either a driver's license or a passport. If you're not traveling outside of the country and expecting to go through customs, there's practically no reason why you'd take a passport with you, and you don't need to have your driver's license on you either even if you're driving, as most people just show it at the police station later on if they've been stopped (you do have to show it if the police pull you over and ask for it, but you can do it the next day or whatever). In the UK, it's really normal to go about your day to day life without any form of ID. It's called not living in a police state.
I can't understand how you need to be TOLD to take your ID with you to check in at a hotel 🤷 this is usual procedure... And it was already years ago... The hotel management did a great job
Travelodge...I had the misfortune to stay in one for two months when I was located away from home for work. In my time...literally nine weeks, I had a member of staff proposition me (that was ok...she was attractive), I had three instances of a member of staff entering my room without knocking and I had to physically restrain two individuals who were threatening female staff and one who had beat his girlfriend. The place was ridiculous. God know so what was going on in the other rooms. Never again.
It's horrible you know young girls can't have there father now and go on holiday alone with outing throwned up on or even worse l like this gentleman. The world and certain majority of it seriously fooked up in the head. There the danger. Not this case
It is a horrible thing that happened to that person but still I appreciate that the staff went all along to make sure the child is ok. It better to ruin someone’s holiday than taking a risk. You cannot go without any child identification, that’s totally on him, I’ll never do this when I become a father. I would say good job to the hotel staff.
In the UK you won't get verifiable ID essentially until you are 16-18. He's not gonna take his passport and maybe he doesn't have one? He's going to thorpe park not italy. Most forms of ID kids can get have no pictures here in england. Bank Card? Birth certificate? No pictures. She's too young for a provisional.
