- Come take a historic home tour of this unbelievable Victorian home. Yes, she has a littel DIY yet to do, but if you are the least bit handy you'll have this old house shining like the gem she is in no time.
Step back in time with this exquisite Victorian masterpiece. "The Magnolia's," nestled in the heart of Vicksburg, Mississippi. Built in 1877 and listed on the National Register for Historic Places, this grand residence offers a rare opportunity to own a piece of history.
This home is an architectural treasure. The front half of the home is the "new" part; the rear is actual a MUCH earlier structure. The architectural details are clearly from 1830-1840, the ante-bellum period. They are clearly Greek Revival in influence, and simple in style. BUT, once you climb into the attic you can see the distinct change in the building style AND in the way the timber is milled. Clearly, this is a much earlier home that was either built onto OR was attached to the back of the "new" structure. Either way, she's a fun architectural puzzle!
Front Parlor, dining room and study radiating Victorian charm, Laundry room, mud room and inviting porches for relaxation and entertainment. Exquisite exterior surrounded by lush, historic flora, "The Magnolia's"boasts stunning magnolia's, crepe myrtles, azaleas, and other flowering bushes and trees, creating a serene and picturesque setting. The exterior showcases some of the finest examples of "Vicksburg pierced columns," a distinctive architectural element unique to the area. Don't miss this rare opportunity to own a historic gem in Vicksburg, MS. Experience the timeless elegance and beauty of "The Magnolia's".

I just want you to know it's so wonderful to view these interesting, beautiful homes and LEARN at the same time. I never doubt you are getting it right; anybody who spends time here might figure out that sharing correct information/education is important to you, Laine. I love that and really appreciate it. THANK YOU.
Stunning. You can imagine how the breezes must have drifted in from the Mississippi.
I can understand why the trends were popular. Those medallions are stunning. Such a lovely staircase.
Minus those lions at the door THAT HOUSE IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!
Thank you Kevin and Laine for making this video and besides that working on all your other projects. We love them and you both. 🩸🙏🌹
Thank you so much for sharing, this is beautiful. I love this vernacular hodgepodge that southerners to this day are still doing before my parents downsized. We added a family room, a solarium, a two car garage to our home.
Iam so glad to see people get a opportunity to buy this home and preserve it’s historic heritage
What a beauty. I enjoy seeing all the designs and details of these older homes.
From the listing photos it's clear that two houses were joined into one. So interesting!
Breath taking
How beautiful this home is. It would be a joy to restore this house!
I love this house. I could totally see myself living in it. Thanks for sharing and all that you do to bring these beauties to our eyeballs.
What a beautiful home! The details are amazing! Loved seeing the cast iron sink in the old part of the home where the washer and dryer are. Thank you for educating us about these Masterpieces! B~}
Great tour! I'm a little jealous of all the beautiful homes you get to see.
Love the voiceover/narration style to this video! Thanks for showing us this home
Love me a Vicksburg Pierced Column and a yummy Vicksburg Tomato Sandwich ❤
Super pretty house and well worth spending time over
FYI… Auggie “bay front”, sits around 4 feet below sea level!
Which makes for interesting times during hurricane season.
Great house .
Thank you.
Thanks Guys Lovely home👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌺
Thank you Laine & Kevin for your video on this beautiful house. I am grateful for all of your videos as they give me things to think about if I decide to move
❤❤❤ Beautiful!! Love seeing the homes you share!!❤❤❤
So LOVELY 🥰
Have enjoyed that home for years. Would love to see it furnished ❤😊
Stunning home!
So beautiful !
I'm enjoying learning more about Vicksburg and its history. When I saw those pierced columns, my first thought was 'Riverboat'. Those fireplaces surrounds will look so much better without the thick paint. Glad to see the staircase and upstairs railings aren't coated with white...a stripping nightmare. This place will need some work, but has good bones. I'm not sure if there are wood strips across the original plaster ceilings that have been painted over, of if they are drop ceilings with panels. If the latter, those that would have to go!! It seems that public street parking is very close to this 'town house'. I always appreciate how you point out the special historic features and fun surprises. Thank you for keeping in touch with these tours while you're working on Hope Farm. I like the variety. :)
It has a beautiful view of downtown Vicksburg.
Oh m g this is special and love the look of the OG fireplace mantle!!! Inspired!!!
Gorgeous! I need to move to Vicksburg!!❤❤
Beautiful home with so much potential!🥰
Beautiful house. I want to change one thing. Thank you so much for the video. I do appreciate it. 🌻😊
If I was 20 yeas younger, I’d think about buying that house
Beautiful house. I love your red dress- you are absolutely stunning.
thanks
I'm in love.
🥰
magic chef range , too cool
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Question, what are those things in front of the fireplaces that looks like a doll bench? And why do they look heavy? I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE that front door! And the staircase too, I'm into the natural wood look, not painted.
In 1983-86 I lived in a huge 4 bedrm apartment in Buffalo NY and the bedrooms were attached via the closets, master bedroom was attached to the bathroom. I loved the breezes during the summer, no need for fans/AC. I never lived any where else like that again.
I would've stayed there to this day if it weren't for the new Landlord always trying to sexually harass Me.
She's a beaute Clark.
😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why would Anyone [in their right mind] PAINT over those mantels??? the paint is hideous.
Question, why would the owner spend the money for a walnut stair rail and balustrades if they were going to use a faux bois technique to make it look like mahogany? Not sure I used faux bois correctly, but hopefully you know what I meant.
Missing the Zillow link. I am interested. Thank you
Sorry. I’ve added it.
Buenos Días, Dios te Bendiga, Amén 🙏❤ Hermoso y Elegante ❤ Gloria a Dios Aleluya 💋❤
I don’t see a link. Beautiful home.
Sorry. I’ve added it now.
All the white paint makes me shudder to remember the years of removing white paint from our 1884 Queen Anne. It makes you want to declare the stuff illegal!
350 is the price
Luckily it says that RIGHT on the thumbnail
$350k? I could buy this free and clear with the equity I have in my 2000 Sq ft Tract home in Dallas with the nutty prices we have here.
One question Layne, maybe it’s the camera or light but it looked like some of the floorboards in the second floor show signs of water damage (they look curled at the edges). Or are my eyes deceiving me?
There was a bit of cupping that could be from the humidity.
@@OurRestorationNation But refinishable I suppose
Please respond, how much for this home?
Check the link for Zillow in the description that's where she always puts it. Edit I checked description it's not there
its $350,000
Zillow has it listed at $350,000😍
If you watched the video or checked the deception you would know, DO THE WORK FOR THE REWARD!!!
Amazing isn’t it that people can’t follow a simple link to see the price! lol.
The kitchen is a travesty. Complete mismatch with this historic home.
You offer so much information on any homes you tour and I am always amazed at the beauty of them. So many cool features. Also, from your descriptions of things and Kevin’s video skills - there is never disappointment! 🤍
