    I love sailing and camping videos and this one was done very nicely. I especially like how you two get along. this was a nice video!.........

    Great video and a very nice part of Scotland. The narrows by the way are said 'bon-or'. Wind against tidy creates a big swell and care needed even in larger boats.

    Great video. I'm looking for a either wayfarer or gp14. Wanderer ect. But the leader 14 looks a great cruising dinghy for me too. Keep vids coming

    Hi Heather, Having camped at Etive about 10 times in the last 20 years and I think you overshot one of the best camping spots by about 400 metres. I have also encountered the midge problem which can be just unreal at times. I came home from one trip and devised an apparatus which runs on a small 12volt battery which clears out 95 percent of the biting midges. I have been learning how to sail a Wayfarer for the last couple of seasons. Bad timing with Covid and all. Hopefully I will be able to go into Etive with it next year. I have joined the Dinghy Cruising Ass. so I will find out if anybody else is up for it. Wayfarers being so heavy and sailing single handed I will probably need a help launching. Keep up the good work inspiring people !!

      Hi Leslie, we could definitely have done with your device that evening! You know what we are talking about with the midges there then. I hope you get your wayfarer into Loch Etive as it sounds like you know where to find a good camping spot too!

      @@the.wild.diaries Getting into Etive might be one of the last things I do or the start of a few new adventures.
      The device is fairly simple, if you have access to a sewing machine. Find an old or new car fan you can get fairly small ones 12" and only 80 watts. on Ebay, Then if you make the shape of an airfield wind sock but without the hole at the small end. Clip your just bigger other end with clothes pegs onto your fan. Reverse the wires so it sucks instead of blows and just sit in front of it with it switched off. Wait until you have a good collection around you head and switch on for 10-15 seconds. The mulsin/ net bag goes up and out and sucks all the midges into the back . When it deflates they cannot get back out or give them a squirt of something. Up and down 20-30 times catches thousands of wingless midges. At the house I have a strong LED light with a bit of yellow safety vest wrapped round it and a 12 volt intermitent switch. We are just outside Crieff 07394396509 Still working on clegs.when you take off your wetsuit.......

      Hi Darius, thank you so much that means a lot! I’m starting out and it took me a long time to figure out how to edit the video 😊
      I really enjoyed your video of Ireland to Scotland by dinghy.
      I use a Go Pro Hero 9 at the moment but I’m looking to upgrade to a different mic for the wind soon. It’s tricky with the sailing and wind combination.
      I’ve written a blog post on my website with all of my gear if you are interested I’ve shared the link here: themindfuladventurer.com/gear/

    Hi Heather. Lovely video. Did you sell the boat? If not, I am interested in speaking to you. Not sure how we do this. I left a message on Gumtree.

      @the.wild.diaries  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sue, thank you! I didn’t see your message actually. That’s strange. It’s not sold but I am 300 miles away from the boat right now so it is not easy show it to anyone who enquires at the moment. I will list it again in early spring/February when I am near it again. Thanks, Heather :)

      @the.wild.diaries  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello James, we sold the dinghy because we wanted a bigger boat for longer trips that we could sleep on board. 😊
