I’m not a classical dancer but I love watching classical dance, especially Kathak. I know about different Gharanas and I have watched countless videos of different Gharanas. Jaipur, being my most favourite one, I must say Dr. Roshan Kumari has been the best dancer of this specific Gharana here. I wish Doordarshan brings more of similar archives to public, so more people know what a phenomenal dancer she has been. Legend!!!
Such a treasure! OMG, I can't even begin to express how I feel watching Roshan Kumarji dancing here. It denies belief at the artistry of her dance and the musicians; the tabla and her feet are one. So rare, we will never see Kathak like this again. NEVER. Not to mention she is much older here than when she danced in the film Jalsaghar. We are blessed to see this.
This is absolutely divine. Babuji ( ustad Fakir Mohd) on Pakhawaj and his signature style of padhant. I feel so blessed to have experienced it all. Classic dance, please let me know how to approach the Doirdarshan archives. I would like to retrieve my dance performance also
