@@ORTLIEBwaterproof the fact sheet says it can be used with carbon frames with eyelits and carbon seatpost. what guarantee can you not maintain? asking cause i would like to use on my trek checkpoint sl5.
If the frame has eyelits for mounting racks, then sure, it will work like any other rack. As for clamping on the Seatpost: it is definitely okay as long as you can clamp it in the area of the post that is meant to go into the frame (its often marked). but even above that area it should also be fine as long as you dont clamp it extremely tight, its not needed anyway because there is basically no vertical force.
Dumb question time. Is it the rack top that is level or the pannier bay mounting bars as they are on different angles? I am assuming the pannier bar needs to be level although this video suggests it is the rack?

Does anyone have thoughts or comments on the following: 3rd party or aftermarket racks when used on full suspension bikes. (This is quite common on Fat Tire E-Bikes) but I've seen even acoustic bikes have rear suspension's on them and what I've heard and trying to get further feedback on is this: Rear Racks when used in combination with the rear suspension design can injury the rider or damage the bike, or both, (at this moment I can't unpack that statement anymore, I'm trying to discern how common this opinion is held )
Yes! I've been waiting so long for something like this to come out! Are both quick racks compatible with the Ortileb trunk bag with the rack lock adapter? Are they suitable for offroad touring?
Hello Joey, the Trunk Bag is compatible with the Quick Rack (www.ortlieb.com/en_us/quick-rack+F78104). Not with the Quick Rack Light, as it does not have a platform on top. The Quick Rack is for road, gravel or mountain bikes and also for commuter bikes. Best Regards, your ORTLIEB-Team!

Yes! That is a solution! It is important that the carrier has 20mm clearance to the tyre. If the Seat Stay adapters bring the carrier high enough above the tyre, it also works with larger tyres. If the M5/6 threads on the seat stay are also higher, it may be possible to use larger tyres directly without Seat Stay adapters.

This would be perfect for me! Is it ok to be used with a carbon frame and carbon seatpost though?
Hi Peter, we advise against this, as damage can occur more quickly. You can try it but then unfortunately we cannot maintain the guarantee. Sorry for that! Best regards, your ORTLIEB-Team!
@@ORTLIEBwaterproof the fact sheet says it can be used with carbon frames with eyelits and carbon seatpost. what guarantee can you not maintain? asking cause i would like to use on my trek checkpoint sl5.
did you end up trying on your carbon bike?
If the frame has eyelits for mounting racks, then sure, it will work like any other rack. As for clamping on the Seatpost: it is definitely okay as long as you can clamp it in the area of the post that is meant to go into the frame (its often marked). but even above that area it should also be fine as long as you dont clamp it extremely tight, its not needed anyway because there is basically no vertical force.
Chainstay mount adapters.. Is this advisable on a CF gravelbike seatstays?
Hello @TheJoeOption, the attachment of the adapter, is not possible with carbon. Otherwise always. Best Regards, your ORTLIEB-Team.

Thanks 😊😊
Dumb question time. Is it the rack top that is level or the pannier bay mounting bars as they are on different angles? I am assuming the pannier bar needs to be level although this video suggests it is the rack?
Hello Peter, the top of the carrier is horizontal. The strut, which is mounted on the seat post, is slanted or inclined depending on the frame. Perhaps our instructions will also help you to understand: www.ortlieb.com/media/downloads/anleitung/quick_rack.pdf
I hope this helps you! Best regards, your ORTLIEB-Team

Does anyone have thoughts or comments on the following: 3rd party or aftermarket racks when used on full suspension bikes. (This is quite common on Fat Tire E-Bikes) but I've seen
even acoustic bikes have rear suspension's on them and what I've heard and trying to get further feedback on is this: Rear Racks when used in combination with the rear suspension design
can injury the rider or damage the bike, or both, (at this moment I can't unpack that statement anymore, I'm trying to discern how common this opinion is held )

Could the adapters overcome the sizing constraints (29ers with 2.35 tires) since they could be installed slightly higher?

Is the frame attachment suitable for an aero frame or seatpost and not just normal round ones?

Or Axiom Streamliner
@@debren27 I have the Axiom Streamliner on my commuter! Super solid rack for bikes with disc brakes.. but it still depends on having rack mounts on the rear dropouts. And moreover the attraction of the rack in this video is that it's easily removed and remounted without tools. Sounds perfect for a bike that usually runs without a rack but can be attached in a jiffy when the need arises.
I just ordered my Steamliner Road so I'm no expert but their pages show it can be attached to a skewer instead of rack mounts. I toyed with getting one for my Specialized Tarmac but went with a large frame bag instead. I did just order one for my new Change 702 for different reasons -- its narrowness means it won't interfere with the folding.
Agreed about the Ortlieb Quick Rack, tho! It looks great and I love the idea of a quick-release removeable rack. I'm actually tempted to try it on my folding bike since it certainly won't get in the way if it's not there most of the time! I just wonder if the bike would fold with the rack on. I couldn't find the deck width so it's hard to say.
Nice! Is it compatible with the gravel pack?

Als er vor paar Tagen dann endlich lieferbar war und bei mir angekommen ist, legte ich mit der Montage los. Da ich kein Gewinde für die die Befestigen hatte musste ich mir mit dem Adapter set zur Befestigung behilflich sein. Quick mounting system looks great, but useless on gravel bikes with thru axle mounting (far more reliable than eyelets). Distance of Ortlieb mount to rack is only 36 cm (14.2"). On a 28"/29" wheel, there's less than 5 cm (2") space left for the tire height plus mud clearance. Unbelievable why Ortlieb Product Managers did not use a 38+ cm (15"+) distance like Trek, Cube, Tubus, and Old Man Mountain. Hope they fix this in a new version.
Hello,
thank you for your feedback.
The Quick Rack is not designed to be mounted at the thru axle of Gravel- or Moutainbikes.
