I feel like Hasbro is not doing as well with the Marvel Legends line because of things like this. The retro carded figures were a good idea, but it was a mistake not to update the body molds. @BIO spider3 I mean: His suit's *technically* supposed to be "black" (it's just drawn with VERY heavy blue highlights like how they do Venom a lot)... This is a figure that should not have been made. If they wanted to remake this costume they should’ve done it on the new Retro Spidey mold. It’s time to retire this mold Hasbro.
"Should not have been made" is pretty harsh, imo. Personally, I still have some fun with the older mold on some spider-men, but the range lacks and it though it would be nice to get rid of it, Hasbro won't because they are a multi-million dollar company, but I do feel like they will stray away from the mold as time will pass or the least they can do is update it. Also, the sculpt for the figure must have been part of the reason as to why the original one goes for a lot and I guess they reused it so for the ones that didn't could have an alternate version of him.
@@jaredberrones9066 the reason why the original goes for so much is because it was the only version of this costume, and it’s a popular version of the most popular marvel character. But the whole point of redoing a figure should be to *IMPROVE* on it. They already have the mold for the retro spidey they just chose not to use it, it’s not like they would’ve had to make a new tool. It’s idiotic. And this sculpt was always bad. The duck feet, the gaps in the collar, the long T crotch, the torso is inhumanly thin - if you look at this figure from the side, the hips bulge out far beyond the crotch completely, look at your own body and see if it does that, and the hip articulation isn’t even good.
