Great job, have to give us an update once it is in use on the water. Definitely feel for you soldering all those wires! Those helping hands are a must!
I'm sure it would have been wise to do that, but I wasn't even sure that it could be done. However, I will say I couldn't tell a difference in clarity from before the break to after. If you have enough EMI in/around your boat to absorb through that 2" piece of unshielded wire, you've got bigger problems than a cut cable.
Just curious if you thought about doing these repairs for $$. I ask because I have one that was pinched, no where near as bad as the cable in the video and was wondering what you would charge. Thanks for the video!!
Found my ps30 cable and fishhawk cables with pieces missing, ps30 had 4 in missing and hawk had 15 inches missing presumably by a muskrat. Will try a repair

Will do!
Do you not have to add the shielding back exactly as it was, per every pair of wires?

It would depend on where you’re located. I wouldn’t mind helping you out.
I have one that needs that done to it only the side that has less wires in it

If you take your time, I'm sure you'll get it fixed.
