Well done Mark - you made good progress. For the benefit of viewers, the route is designed to be ridden clockwise. Riding it anti-clockwise is less scenic, uses trickier hills and follows the wrong way on one way streets.
Absolutely brilliant fella, I like your presenting style. Looking forward to the remaining episodes. Damn though... something else I must do on the bike 😂
Mark thanks so much for these videos! I've been looking at a Husqvarna Enduro which led me to your channel. I didn't realise the Great Western Trail existed, espesh as we just live in Hook - so not a million miles away from it! Will be sure to check it out. Thanks for the inspo!
Amazing Video.... I been seeing so many adventure videos but all from Australia & UE.... Great to see this one from UK... So inspiring... Hope to get my bike licence and get out of London.... Thanks for Sharing. 🤟🏻🏁🤟🏻
Omg that it's so cool. I'm nearly getting my test done and get my adv bike to do this stuff. Living in Devon means this it's a MUST!! thanks for the video mate well done
Very amusing tale. Is there any way of knowing in advance which parts of the trail are impassable (at least for me)? something like the colour coding they have for ski runs? Also does the route mark where shops/camping/petrol are available? Did you meet any other riders on the trail ie, if you fell off badly, would you be discovered in time for tea or would I have to wait for the next ice age?
Poor Dennis, hopped out for breakfast and some giant relocates him to Devon. 😂 Your videos are always fun and very informative, for me as a Crf250 Rally beginner. Really appreciate the terrain assessment as looking for first Uk mini TET adventure route. At least the hotel room had flowers, looking forward to part 2 .
I live in Devon, have ridden most of our 1000 lanes ! The trails are great - a relay mix of terrain and difficulty and spectacular views - really enjoyed your video, made me think I should do the whole SW section with some mates next year 👍👍
Great video....the TET is a often overlooked here as it's thought of as a European trail. The only problem with using hotel accommodation is keeping the bike safe and secure....Cheers, Steve
Very nice videos. How often have you needed a spare tire/tube on your adventures on the 701 (on how many kilometers) Only thing i don't like with the videos - the music is much too loud sometimes, i always have to readjust the volume on the speakers.
mark lewis thanks for that I am just looking at getting into off roading so looking at all the TET stuff, I’ve really enjoyed your videos during lockdown and will look out for anymore coming soon, I will probably get a CRF 250l to start with then see how things go. Thanks for the response 👍
Hey cool video man. This is exactly the kind of thing i want to do. i just got my first dirt bike 2 weeks ago (stupid dealer that sold it to me gave me a non runner...video on my channel). Me and the kids will be doing sand dunes and forest trails etc. What kind of tyre do you recommend for a dual sport such as the dr350?
Dennis would remember to return your lawnmower (TG reference). Jokes aside, very entertaining video! Planning a TET GB trip at the moment so this is quite useful, thank you.
never - I ride sensible, often solo or with my wife and for walkers/horses etc. Simply nothing for people to complain about. The people that get grief are typically going too fast and in big groups.
@@MarkLewisfitness thanks for the reply I’m very interested in getting into this adventure riding and would I imagine be on my own so was curious I suppose respectful riding is the key thanks 👍
I know you didn't ask me the question but battery powered bikes aren't well suited to journeys like this. The technology will have come a long way before they can get anywhere near the convenience of petrol for these kind of trips. I will definitely tip my hat to you if you do persevere though, best of luck.
Hi, id love to do the tet ive got a adventure bike and okish off road skills and really want to get involved in the tet. My biggest question is what are you using for sat nav? And where did you get the gpx file for the route?
Thanks Mark, I am thinking this is gonna be the bike for me. Also considered the AJP PR7, but it’s just a little too niche and rare I think to be the bike for me! I am too tall for most other bikes. I am finding the XT660Z just a little too road oriented for the riding I find myself wanting to do ( TET and a TRF stuff)
Nice videos, I enjoyed watching. Are all trails are legal to ride with motorcycle? I could not find this info on TET website, perhaps you or anyone can shed some light on it?
@@MarkLewisfitness I went to read on TET UK page and that's what it says: ".. Only ride on public byways and carriageways - whether tarred or unsurfaced. You must not ride on footpaths, bridleways, restricted byways, cycle tracks or private/open land". Some trails in your videos (also on videos who has created the uk tet route) looks like single tracks just for walking or riding a bicycle, it confuses me. I certainly want to ride tet myself, but just don't want to get into trouble.
Great video. I think I have to go to the UK for the TET :-). But never put your google that way on your helmet when you stop, at the back or down under the helmet.
Dude, you are brilliantly comical. I absolutely love it, had me LOL 😂 at times. Thanks for the video

I think thanks are due from the trail riding community for all the work youve put into this James
Enjoyable watching and excellent info for anyone looking to give the GWT a go looking forward to seeing next instalment thanks for sharing
Excellent video Mark. Great dry humor.
Thank's Mark, another great upload, really enjoy your stuff😤. Looking forward to part 2.Cheers Tony.
Really enjoyed this, great humourous moments

This is brilliant thank you buddy. Love the commentary 😂

Great stuff, I never knew about this route so thanks for taking us along
I loved the video, its nice to see those trails again, did this trip easier this year. enjoy it and I can't wait to see vids. John

Brill. Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks for showing this great VID !!! 👍
Did it in 2020. Bloody brilliant fun. Did it on a 701 too.
Love these videos!
Great videos mate!! 😅 👍🏻
Looks a great trip
So far Mark. Keep us posted
Yes, another cracking video!

Hi Mark, great vid - thanks - what was the Garmin gps model you used please?
Great vid, I'm inspired to get a trail bike and give it a try.
What tent is that?
Hi friend, what is your camping tent ? Thank you
YES! Love this :-)
Are these trails suitable for a larger bike aka T700..? I’m a kiwi keen on Europe when this Covid thing is ova
awesome work! what tent are you using ?
Great video! Big THX!
I like your videos, pal. Making me want to haul my old DRZ warhorse around the GWT...
Hi . Brilliant series of vids . You mention a campsite app . Can you tell me what it is please ?
mark lewis cheers Mark . Thank you 🙏

How are you like the mosko tank bag? Does it interfere with standing at all?
Hey, what are you editing on? I notice your videos are a bit grainy, I had the same trouble until I sussed out the correct export settings.
Nice ride mate :-) That tent big enough for 1 ??, lol
ha! That's because Mrs Wife stayed home that trip - normally need all the space for 2!
Hi Mark how did you find the Garmin for navigating and do u think a mobile phone could’ve done that trip

love your sense of humour mark, ive just moved to devon so keen to try the TET, what sat nav app did you use and did you download the gpx files ok?
mark lewis Great, thanks mark
Could you reply to this please
Totally loved that. Trans euro trail is such a beatiful track in every country, come take a look at our experience in Italy
Dennis would remember to return your lawnmower (TG reference).
Jokes aside, very entertaining video! Planning a TET GB trip at the moment so this is quite useful, thank you.
Can you let me know what equipment you are using for tet?
Which sat nav have you got? Garmin?
Looks like it comes right past where i live (Hayle) think il be doing this next year :)
enjoyed the video can I ask if you encounter hostile issues from walkers locals ect on those really narrow tracks when riding the bike?
never - I ride sensible, often solo or with my wife and for walkers/horses etc. Simply nothing for people to complain about. The people that get grief are typically going too fast and in big groups.

Hey Mark, do you think there's enough stop of points to do this with an e-bike with a decent battery?
I know you didn't ask me the question but battery powered bikes aren't well suited to journeys like this. this is amazing !
Mark, looking at the 701, how do you find the gearbox ratios for trail riding in the UK where speeds are slower?
Thanks Mark, I am thinking this is gonna be the bike for me. Also considered the AJP PR7, but it’s just a little too niche and rare I think to be the bike for me! I am too tall for most other bikes. Brillant vid. Loved it. I’m trying to get the map for TomTom Rider or google maps, but not joy. Any help greatly appreciated
Can i ask what sat nav is a good option to buy for the tet?
@@MarkLewisfitness thanks m8
couldyou do the tet on a 125 grom with big block tyres?
Yeah!
Hi Mark! Did you do it alone?
Nice videos, I enjoyed watching.

What bike are you riding?
Did you have problems / issues with dogs? 🐕🐕
mark lewis Ok, I‘m asking because I have been chased by shepherd dogs in Spain, quite scary.
Are there Gpx files available for the great western loop?
mark lewis got them thanks 👍
Living the life
Great stuff, I quite fancy an adventure like this myself on the CRF250L
One minute in and you've gained a subscriber
That is a big ass tent :))) Great video. Come do the romanian TET it is fabulos.

Really enjoy your videos mate :-) Great edit, bur seriously.... a hotel :-P that's why the the viking's..... well, let's not go into that :-P haha
Sorry about Seaton. Not our best beach in Devon.
Cool ! :)
Stay out of the ruts, stick to the grooves!
Free range horse!🤣
Funny fucker.... Great video
What tent do you use?
