I think they're even better than orcs 'cause they're not mindless war-lovers. They're a militaristic society who also have an appreciation and respect for knowledge and science. They're definitely have shades of fascism as well, but there's enough depth to their race that you know there's more to them than just that.
Coolest race in the game my absolute favorite!!!!! The citadel used to feel so cold and intimidating when I first started playing the game... Three months later and it might be silly but now it feels like... Home 🥺 (also if u don't like citadel charr vibes you can always go for an Olmakhan kinda Charr which is also very very cool and valid)
Point is, Ascalon DID originally belong to the Charr. Period. It's stated. You can't argue that. I didn't say it was their homeland, I just said it ORIGINALLY belonged to them. @goruu (cont part 3) savage nature. Even the Charr likes to admit being very brutal. In the Horde, the Tauren, the Orcs and the Trolls have shamanistic pride. A Charr would laugh at their weakness. Sure the Charr may be a bit impressed on their prowess, but that is it. But the Charr doesn't fight for honor. They fight to win. They'll see the Orc's foolishness as a weakness.
@Bluffdarqfox Your are not alone brother. I personally think that on the first days most people will create a Charr/Norn/Human just because they want to see them, after a few weeks all other races/classess will even out. (....hopefuly)
@lichmourne00 Charr doesn't really hate any race as a whole. Also, Charr isn't forced to fight alongside the humans to fight the common threat. If you read GoA, the treaty is merely a ceasefire pact. It is not any kind of an alliance towards the human. Since we have seen humans walking freely in the Charr lands in beta without being gutted, it is safe to assume that the stereotype is wrong. What the hate is weakness. Religion is a weakness, so they hate that.
@goruu uhh Alliance have nightelfs and humans who use magic, and horde have goblins and undead that build machines. There is magic and tech on both sides. The horde are for glory and Honor while the Alliance is for Retribution against the horde in a way. The chars story does not fit joining the alliance but rather the horde.

People in the press beta had a specific exception; ArenaNet wanted that filmed and commentated and broadcast on TH-cam. It's free publicity; so they had the opposite of the NDA everyone else is under. For any other beta person, things are different. If some ArenaNet guy did see the comment, they PROBABLY wouldn't object since it's positive, but they might just randomly take your name off the beta list, too. Negative comments about the beta, ofc, could actually get you sued (probably not though)
@goruu (cont) I think that the Charr would fit more nicely in the Alliance than the Horde. The Horde is more mystical than technological. Charr distrust magic. The Gnomes and Dwarves would fit better for the Charr. But because there are humans in Azeroth and in Tyria, the Charr could easily understand the humans because they(the humans) are similar. The Night Elves and Dranei are in the far corners of Kalimdor so a Charr may never meet a Night elf to ridicule. The Worgen and Charr shares...

Its the reward for 10 points. I only got a little over that. Beat one of the campaigns (not eye of the north) and get some pets and you are pretty dang close.
@Themagikz98 Then play the first half of the prophecies campaign and the Ebon Vanguard quests in Eye of the North and you find out all the lore you need to get their true story.
