RX7s are hard because to live with one, you have to be in love with it. Not just to get over the quirks, but to understand them, build around them, and actually in a lot of cases pick your quirks. A lot of people get frustrated with them because they looked up a cheat sheet of common practices and never really engaged with the "why" of it, or even the "why" of the rotary itself. They just want "a JDM legend." Some guy may be an absolute authority on rotaries but if he built a race car and you want a street car, following in his steps is going to actively detract from your experience. Still though, I do love them, and I love my FD enough that even though I already own it, I'm watching reviews to see different perspectives and builds to bring new ideas back to it. Good luck with the channel, bro. Cheering for you from the other Carolina
10000% true regarless of chassis, ESPECIALLY true if its a dorito powered engine. But thanks to that the RX7 is the most accessible of the JDM legends, only a specific few (crazy) individuals who truley love it, get to enjoy and appreciate it.
I do prefer the fd to the mk4, r32, and nsx. I like the hatchback for usability and only the mk4 and fd have that. I don't like that everyone always expects a mk4 or skyline to have 1000< hp and want to race me every second. And I don't like that for any real work or maintenance on the nsx you have to lift it to drop the engine. Not only that but now a lot of their parts can only be bought through Honda Japan. They are slowly phasing it out. An fd with a motor swap (to drop the rotary nuances) is literally my ideal "classic" jdm.
Hey bro. I’m in the process of trying to buy a 1994 300zx tt and I stumbled across your videos and thank the lord for that 😂. It has 96k miles, right hand drive, automatic and it’s up for $18,000 at JDMsportclassics. Do you think it’s worth it? And you def gained a sub 👏🏽
@@isaacramirez2118 thanks man!!! Uhmm well that's about the typical going price so not too bad. Not a fan of the auto but ik a TT manual is going for well over that, cost to do a manual swap would still be less so I think it's a great deal! Especially for a real fair lady 💪
